Installation problem HELP PLZ!!!!!

Hey everyone,
I just bought acopy of civ4 and successfully installed and played it on an older comp. Now I've gone and installed it on a better machine, but I keep getting a 'catastrophic failure' error when I try and install it. Sometimes I get the error on the first disc and sometimes on the second disc. What should I do? This has gotten me very frustrated so plz plz help me if u can!

Maybe the discs are dirty, or your cd/dvd rom is. Try to clean them both. If that doesn't wotk, update your drive's firmware. Then, if that doesn't work, enable the "view hidden files and folders" options and then copy the CIV4 disc to your hard drive and install it from there

Another area to check if a set of discs has worked on one PC but not another, is to look at the CD/DVDF Drive firmwear - it may need an update. You can get them by searching the makers website. Does not often happen, but enough to put it on the checklist for longer standing persistent problems.
