I am trying to install more than one mod here... I don't have any expansion packs
That's probably going to kill you right there... 90% of all the custom mods around here require BtS (most) or Warlords (some)... there's scant few mods that can run on vanilla Civ4 without any expansions. Also, if you've never used a mod before, take baby steps... get ONE to work by itself before you try merging a bunch together... but like I said, you'll most likely need BtS before you get started.

Let me rephrase: I have Beyond the Sword, but I couldn't get the Classical Religions mod to work with it. With BTS un-installed, Classical Religions works just fine. The EDU mod also works (If I use the appropriate version of the mod, of course) but I can't get them both to work together.

Okay, if I'm running the game without any expansion packs installed, and Classical Religions is running fine, is it possible for me to insert these units into the game?

Flavor unit models are just models... they work with any version of Civ4... you just need to do your own XML to make them work with the game... models are just models... integrating them is your own job.

For the unit models, you're best off using BtS and running Varietas Delectat, Diversica or Cultural Diversity (take your pick). As for Classical Religions, it's a fairly basic mod. I incorporated it about 18 months back in my first mod, but as it's only for Vanilla, it'd need updating.

So, either have a go yourself at updating the religions mod, or try to work out how to add flavor units to Vanilla. If you need some tips on either, just send me a message.

Oh, and welcome to CFC! :D

Why would you say that?

Nevermind... I got my threads confused.

 Don't worry about it.
Of course it wouldn't hurt if you threw-in the Wolfshanze Mod to your suggestions for flavor mods... ;) :p

Yeah, but it comes with a ton of other features, too, so it's not just a flavor mod. ;) :p
Yeah... it's a flavor mod... and so much more! ;)

So how do I insert these models into the game?
I assume you mean full-blown "Mods", not just a single "model".

Most mods go into the "Mods" folder of your Civ4/BtS directory, then in-game, you simply choose "Advanced" from the main menu then "Load Mod"... it will restart with the mod now installed and ready to play (in theory).

Probably right... so easy to get sidetracked!
