hey guys,
should preface this message with saying that I know bugger all about the inner workings of computers!
Ive got the black terrain problem too - my video card is an Intel 852GM Extreme Graphics with 64MB shared memory. If anyone could tell me where to download one of these so called 'drivers' that might fix the problem, that would be great
:goodjob:

Most 'drivers' people are refering to only apply to ATI and Nvidia-based video cards. Depending on whether or not your laptop integrated video card supports T&L (a minimum requirement, see sticky post) it doesnt look like the black terrain is going to be fixed any time soon. Unless you actually have a desktop with an integrated video and have an open AGP slot (a slot on motherboard for video card) then you might want to consider upgrading.

bad news, but thanks for taking the time to let us know! might just have to fork out a bit of dosh for some new hardware then

just curious, do you have a desktop or laptop?

The black terrain clearly isnt a TnL thing because that intel card can handle it (just got the game to play on my laptop with the same card) you just need to do something about the map visibility options, editing the techs to give the map visible at the start.

The cheshire cat bug on the other hand does seem to be TnL related.
