basically..he shows that building farms first seems to produce more gold than if you build cottages first.

I saw this and figured we might want to look at this closely to see if we should emply this tactic in our capital. If you add in a shirine and burcarcy you can get some crazy gold numbers out of the capitol. I am thinking taking our screenshot and making a worldbuild of our capitol and run some sims...thats legal right.

I know some people are knocking it...due to his assumptions but it does show that in order to cottage spam you need the food..something many people forget when building cottages that can be used until a food bonus late in the game.

Well i think the one flaw with that would be that you need a granary, and especially after the patch chopping doesnt get that done quick enough so we could be wasting a lot of time.

plus it builds commerce after a longer time, the quicker we get gold the more techs we can then get.

right..this is just something to look at and think about a bit.

Oh yer its a good idea in theory, could maybe try it at one of our other cities, after we've got math could chop them granarys

I added the part about using the capitol...I was trying it out in an old save I had. Its interesting...but i dont know if its a fool proof way of doing things. I much prefer semi-balanced cities since I really havent had alot of success making specialized cities

That seems like my usual strategy, first try and boost population, then go after gold.
