Would it be possible to mod internal trade routes so that you decide how much food/production you send and that the amount that you send is taken from your cities current production/food income? Also i think it would be logical that internal trade routes yield little bit gold based on the number of food/production they move?

I've always found it a bit silly that you can just send food/production from one city to another, even if the sending city has low food/production its self XD the food/production just 'appears' out of nowhere for the trade.

It would make sense for the food/production being sent to be subtracted from the city's production of food/hammers but I have a feeling if that was moddable there'd already be a mod for it by now. Or it's just so difficult to mod and such a niche request that nobody deems it worth their effort?

Also I agree that food/production being sent to one city should yield a small gold production for the sender (producer :D)

I'd be interested to know if it's at least doable in theory.

This definitely makes sense... And I remember when this was first introduced how odd I found this. BUT your opening the floodgates for balancing this. Currently I find Food production the obvious choice in the early to mid game. By changing it to stealing food from the hosting trade city you are extremely devaluing these internal routes. (Not that they couldn't use it) Of course you would also have to apply this to internal production routes too.

I'm going to go out on a limb here that this concept is so logically obvious that IF it were possible it would already be implemented...

logically obvious ≠ fun to play with

If changed, maybe a ratio of 1:5 for send food to resulting food in destination city.
