internet multiplayer from same router

Hi. I'm looking for help.

I bought Civ 3 Conquests for my boys. We have a linksys router and 2 computers for them to play on. They can play each other fine but when they tried to play over the internet in the same game with other players they couldn't. Does anyone know what we can do so they can play together?

There's probably nothing to do about it unless you can get more than one ip from your isp.

Edit: Or maybe you could route the traffic from one of your computers through some other computer outside your network, but it could be difficult to set up if you have never done it before.
