Description: When playing a scenario, it doesn't remember the difficulty settings from the previous game, but every time starts with chieftain / lowest aggression.
Steps to reproduce / observed effect: Start scenario. Change settings to for instance regent and normal aggression. Play game, start new game and observe that the basic selection is again chieftain and lowest aggression.
Expected result: Obviously, for the settings to be remembered.

Edit: This bug is valid for all scenarios. Not just the intros.

Just read a post from Kring where he quotes Mike B/ as writing the following about the INI file.

Difficulty=7

Aggression=4
The aggression level used in the last game played. The numbers correspond to the levels (starting at 0).
Looking a little further, I observed the following:
  1. When starting an EPIC game, the values for Difficulty and Aggression are properly updated and saved in the Conquests.INI file. This is expected behaviour.
  2. When starting a Scenario, the values for Difficulty and Aggression are not updated in the Conquest.INI file, even when it saves and updates the "Latest Save=" element of the INI file. This is not the expected behaviour and constitutes the bug.[/list=1]

I'm guessing this was either fixed in 1.15 or i'm doing something wrong when trying to reproduce it. Can anybody verify if this has been fixed in 1.15?

I haven't tried any of the beta patches yet, so I'm affraid I cannot test it. Please note that it only fails when you start a scenario and modify the settings. Not when you're playing an EPIC and modify the settings. Thanks for trying it, though.

Ok thanks,

Here's what I did:

1. Selected the 1st tutorial, changed the difficulty to Deity, and started the game
2. Clicked 'New Game'
3. Selected the 2nd tutorial, and there the difficulty setting was still on 'Deity'.

Just wondering if I was doing something wrong :)

It does look like it - I tested again, closing the game down entirely between the two tutorials, and it still stuck.

On a somewhat related note, it also seems like the 'Grid Preference' has finally been fixed, so C3C now remembers your preference. Hooray! :D
