Scouting I'm iffy on right now. As said before, Asoka isn't exactly the kind of guy to have a whole bunch of military at his disposal. I should know. I played a game where he DoWed on Huayna Capac and got his ass handed to him. Also, scouting would waste valuable turns.
Don't build any more warriors, but get OB with Asoka (if we haven't already) and have a look with whoever is nearby. Do we even know if his capital is on a hill?
I wouldn't bother about any more Warriors, and I also wouldn't bother about scouting. Actually, since we are building Axes, I don't think we can build warriors anymore.
Scouting is great, but if it costs us turns before we can invade, don't bother. 7 Axes with CRI and CombatI will mince Asoka. Its a confidence thing. Yes, if Delhi is on a hill, surrounded by rivers, we might not get in. But we have already built the Axes, we are either taking Delhi or Bombay if Delhi isn't gettable.
Oh, and I agree that Pewter should go with the lighthouse. It is not in a position to build/whip Axes with any speed.
The city on the east coast isn't on a hill (it was the one that bumped my warrior out of culture when it was built), you can see where it was built in my turnset (on page 4 of the thread).
EDIT: Nice rush though. Surprised Asoka had so few defenders.
Turn 115: That extra Axe will definitely join in the fun in Bombay. 2 fortified Axes though, thats nasty. Well, we are lucky to still have as many Axes. Bulbasuar will come as well.
Turn 116: Axe finishes in Pallet, start on Granary. Several Barbs show up on our borders.
Spoiler:
Turn 117: Bombay just produced a Galley? Hopefully he sends the Axes towards Pallet Town in the hope he can take it. Send our Axe into the path of the barb Axe, on a FH.
Turn 118: Try to lure some troops out of Bombay, by deserting a subdued Delhi. Barb Axe suicides itself on our Axe. The barb Archer moves onto our Copper.
Spoiler:
Turn 119: Barb Archer pillages Copper. Axe at Pallet Town goes north. Attempt to lure Axes out of Bombay fails, we are now going to have to do this the hard way, I predict heavy losses.
- CRII Axe only gets 50.0% odds, and he wins!
- CRI Axe gets 30.3% odds, and he wins too! Now only 2 Archers remain.
- CRI Axe gets 59.9% odds, and he wins too!
- CRI Axe gets 61.0% odds, and he wins! This is a setup!
And guess what we find next to Bombay!!
Spoiler:
Not roaded though
Turn 120: Barb Archer finally takes the plunge and attacks our Warrior, we win!
Hunting finishes, start on Mathematics.
Turn 121: Oracle completed and Christianity SFE. Delhi pops its borders, it founded Buddhism. Abandon monument, start on Granary.
Turn 122: Yet another barb Archer near Pewter.
Spoiler:
Turn 123: Axes are healing and getting into position. Waiting for Patal to get to pop 2 so we can capture it.
Turn 124: Upgrade Pewters Warrior to an Axe. Didn't want to do this (it killed our research rate), but we can afford it and we don't want to lose Pewter.
Turn 125: Upgraded Axe kills barb Archer.
Please Note:
-There is still an Indian Galley floating around, I am not sure if it is empty or not.
-There are 2 Indian Archers wandering around the jungle.
-Bulbasaur is heading to Bombay
-Don't attack Patal until it gets to pop2.
Thoughts:
-WB in Pallet next might be a good idea, just to explore.
-We can only sustain 20% research ATM, but this should improve once our cities grow in pop a bit and we connect better trade routes.
-Delhi has so much forest, all of our current cities are coastal, I'm thinking we could/should chop GLH in Delhi.
Yeah, I think equally important is establishing better trade routes with Qin & Alex.
They still have no religion, so spreading Buddhism to them would be awesome.
