IO6 - Math is for the weak!

Cheers for the input there Cam!

Neat one with the culture tracker - I'll add that to my mental toolbox. :)

That's what I was thinking - I can see 3 good close city sites, then it might be time to go bump a neighbours head. But like you say, not the nicest neighbours to play that game with!

Fingers crossed for some good copper!

I'm supposed to be next, but I'm very busy lately. There are tests this week. So you take it.

Well don't mind if I do. I'll probably snag the marble site east, unless anyone cares to to chime in supporting the wine or stone site.

Thanks, I wasn't referring to anyone in particular with that "You". This is why we should all speak German... you would know the difference between du and ihr, but not you and you.

Das ist rechts, mein Kind. However, I can't help but be a smart ass whenever the opportunity presents itself. Thoughts on city site?

I sort of like 1N of Spot III for our next one. And we're going to have to take that area quick or not get it at all, I think. 1N of Spot III will get 28 food if we farm nothing but the rice, BTW.

I think the 1N of III is my fave too. Get the horsies up right away, snag the marble and it's all good!

Wish I spoke German. It sounds like such a fantastic language to curse in! Plus my language skills are embarassing generally.

T42
Const. Warrior>Settler

T45
We lost a grassland river road because I'm not paying 20g for it unless this was Civ III. Amirite?

T47
Const. Settler>Warrior
Bronze is literally right outside our capital BFC, so no worries there. Bronze Working comes in and we begin research on Writing since I'd like to see us snag Aesthetics and begin using that marble. I'm a wonder whore when playing anything less than immortal.

T49
Const. Warrior>Warrior
Settle Thessalonika 1N of III, although I see more appeal to settling on the plains hill that will also grab the cow. The city starts a monument.

There is so much land I'd like for us to take it hurts my head. Once we grow to size 6 we should pump out two more workers, then another settler.

English stems from Germanic Saxon and Norman French. I would say if one spoke English at a high level coherently, it is easy to pick up German in a matter of a couple months (speaking from experience). Although German sounds rigid while cursing (as best portrayed here), I find that English and Mandarin Chinese are masterful linguistic art forms while one commits to verbally abusing others outright.

All sounding good there. Guess it might be a bit of a headache to dotmap. Worth sitting down and having a go at that?

My language skills are very rusty. Am a bit lazy with them and don't get to practice much beyond English... Heh - nice video :D

You say your language skills are rusty, but that sentence reads fluent. I think the skill that you're rusty at is gauging your English skill.

Hey guys.

Played 3 turns and my PC bombed. It's been doing this lately, I suspect a cooling problem. I will have to redo my set tomorrow at work. Apologies.

Pre turn – Revolt to Slavery. Constantinople will grow to size 6 and also become unhealthy on T1.

T1 – We are second biggest civ
Whip worker (5 turns) for 3 pop, Constantinople is healthy again. Set duo of workers to farm rice. Send my new worker to pasture the horses and move southern warrior out of harms (barb archer) way.
T2 – Writing is in and I set tech to meditation so we can get PH for Oracle. Meet Sitting Bull and Worker starts pasture.
T3 – Move workers to road Marble by Thgessalonica. Warrior pops a hut… What can it be?? Horseback Riding! Lucky us!
T4 – Oh shoot! Workers get to Marble and I realise we don’t have Masonry. Let them road it anyway, will move them to the copper next turn.
T5 – Move warrior. Celtic lands are really pressuring our Eastern borders. Micro Thess so Monument comes in sooner but growth is slightly delayed.

I stopped here to get some feedback from the team. Should I keep meditation so we can grab PH for Oracle or switch to Masonry so we can hook up the Marble?

HBR from a hut. Now that is rather nice. :D

Would it be possible to get a save to have a peek at? Or some screenshots.

How long is Medi > PH going to take and how big a sidetrack is Masonry?

My gut feeling is to go straight for PH and build Oracle without the marble. By the time we've researched Masonry and built the quarry it could basically have been done the 'tough' way. But that's more generic advice... :) How are we on choppable forests to feed into it?

Riverside Copper-Corn-Gems-Gems.

Ok, I think that is the way to go. I also missed that we don't have the marble in our borders yet so it's useless to us until we grow. Shall I start a settler for that city? We are getting pressure for land already. I'm having some trouble getting my screenshots saved in BUG other than using Ctrl+Prt Scr and then pasting to word (useless for uploading here). Anyone have some advice?

I apologise but this is my first SG and I'm getting used to the forum...

I reckon that sounds a good route to go - be a while before the marble is online and we can definitely get the Oracle faster the normal way....

As for screenies, I printscreen them and paste into MS Paint (which is a really lame low tech answer for an IT 'professional'!). Save them to disk and upload the lot to www.Imageshack.com, free, they don't need registration and provide nicely formatted links.

PrtScrn on it's own should work in bug (it does for me). And the screenies get saved to your My Documents/My Games/Beyond the Sword/Screenshots folder.
