1GB shuffle is going for $100, while the 1GB nano is for $150. So why would anyone buy a 1GB nano over the shuffle? not only is the former cheaper, it is also smaller.

The shuffle looks cheap, it has no screen, and it doesn't look like an iPod. Most people buy an iPod not because they need to play music, but because it's an iPod, because they can get better MP3 players for a cheaper price, so lets cut the crap. The iPod Nano is sexy and looks better, and actually has a screen.

I look in to this a great deal when i was looking for a MP3 player. At the time i was dead set on getting anything other then a Ipod. I thought they were just over priced over hyped junk. After looking at most reveiws that rated Ipod up at the top end, i got one off of ebay. over 3 years old (I think, maybe 2) and still a good battary life. they do cost more, but just alittle more. but you do get what you paided for.

Just on a note, I am talking about 40 gig 4th gen Ipod. I have no clue how good the newer Ipods are. But i am very happy with my old Ipod.

When I got my nano I scratched the screen pretty badly with my eyedrop container in my pocket. But it is still better than a shuffle.

Its the brand name if you changed the ipod nanos name to iriver nano or something else it wouldn't be bought as much

I have a shuffle, and it functions quite well without a screen, especially if you memorize the playlist (easy to do after a few repeats). Then again, I only have 22 songs on my iPod so I don't speak for the majority of iPod users.

I'm a real miser so cheap and functional is my game. The Nano's pros are virtually all cosmetic, so no buy in my opinion. Shuffle power!

Buy a case with a something over the screen or a rubber screen. They're all over computer stores.
