For many months, I have saved my money in hopes of buying the ULTIMATE music player. I ordered it about a week ago, and it has finally arrived. BEHOLD MY iPOD:

Actually, that's not my iPod, but I have one just like it. My beautiful, 20 Gig iPod WITH MY NAME LASER INGRAVED ON THE BACK FOR FREE sits right next to me, recharging as I write this.

Anyone else here have an iPod? Also, does anyone know any good iPod websites? I know of two good sites already: iPod Hacks and iPod Lounge.

I have an iPod and I love it. When I first got it I visited iPod lounge frequently, but haven't recently. That was the only site that I used.

Partly because of my iPod and iTunes I have stopped using Kazaa. I didn't delete all my songs, but at least I pay for any new ones that I get. :jesus:

BTW I think cgannon has an iPod. He might know of some good websites.

The "iPod's Dirty Little Secret" is a rip off. These were a couple of guys who were POed when they found out Apple would not pay to replace the battery of their iPod, which was not under warranty, and it cost $300.

Just prior to the release of this video, Apple reduced the battery price to $99. Also, if your iPod is under AppleCare, they will replace the battery free of charge.

I've known people who have the original 5GB iPod and their battery has not died yet. Running the battery until it's completely out of power decreases it's life significantly, so charge your iPod as often as possible in order to keep it lasting longer, and get AppleCare (which you should have for such an expensive piece of equipment anyways), and you're fine--unlike these pricks.

Hence their message:
Our Message:

In September of 2003 the battery in my first generation ipod would hold a charge for no longer than one hour. I brought the iPod into the Apple store in Manhattan for repair and was told they do not currently offer a battery replacement program and my best option was to buy a new ipod. I then called the Apple Care 800 number regarding this issue and was told the same. I then sent my ipod to the Apple Executive office addressed to Steve Jobs with a note explaining my situation and requesting a replacement battery. The Apple Executive office contacted me via telephone to explain that Apple does not repair or replace dead ipod batteries and that it was policy of the company to recommend to the customer to purchase a new ipod when the battery fails. I then looked into and purchased a third party replacement battery, this battery was not endorsed by Apple. After the complicated installation my ipod did not work at all, even when it was plugged in. I then purchased a new ipod for $400.00.

In response to this my brother Van and I made the short film "iPod's Dirty Secret" After we finished production of the film, but not necessarily in response to it, Apple began offerring a battery replacement program for the ipod for a fee of $99 and an extended warranty for the ipod for $59.

We think Apple's new policy is fair. Our movie is a documentation of our experience.

Yay!

I'm also an iPod owner.

Had a 40gig (wanted 10, but they were out of everything except a few 40s on Christmas eve) since Christmas.

I have about 720 songs on there, and I am convinced I'll never get close to filling it. I doubt I can break 2000 songs...

Love it and use it every day. It is the greatest thing ever invented by man. :D

EDIT: My only complaint is that its hard to get working with Windows ME (but once you get it working its easy) and that it scratches too easily. My screen already looks a year old and I've had it for a few months.
