I decided to try GOTM #30. I downloaded the setup files for games 21-25 Civ 3 v1.29. I was able to start playing but the increased sea movement did not take effect. Today I tried going with the PTW files and I couldn't get past an install error for GOTM #25. So the question remains is it me or isn't it.

Are you sure your 1.29 installation has any problem? The only increase is in ocean movement. Coastal movement is actually slowed down and sea movement is relatively unchanged.

If your PTW installation is failing, are you trying to install into Conquests? If so there's work in progress to try to resolve problems with that.

Thank you for such a quick response. So I guess it was me after all. I need to read the supplied info more carefully. When I didn't see my ships zooming along ala the Age of Discovery conquest I figured it was broke. But then there is still the install error with PTW.

Another point to note: The differential sea / ocean / coastal movement is built in to the game rules, and as such is stored in the save file, rather than in any installation pack.
