Noob question: I can't find the maps in the civ-content in the editor...any ideas?

Afaik, @tjs282 is also on Steam, perhaps he knows about this? I know, that the Steam edition is not complete in the sense, that it's missing the PtW & Vanilla executables, and perhaps some other stuff?!

The maps for civ content are found in three different locations, depending on the version of the game they were bundled with:

steamapps\common\Sid Meier's Civilization III Complete\Scenarios
steamapps\common\Sid Meier's Civilization III Complete\civ3PTW\Scenarios
steamapps\common\Sid Meier's Civilization III Complete\Conquests\Scenarios

The maps for the conquest scenarios are found in steamapps\common\Sid Meier's Civilization III Complete\Conquests\Conquests

I haven't noticed any missing scenarios compared to non-steam versions of Civ3

I have the GOG version of C3C, not Steam. The installer-package lacked a PTW executable, and (I discovered later) also the single-player version of the "Rise of Rome" Conquest .biq -- but as far as I can tell, everything else was included that should have been.

As with all my games on the Win8.1 box, I deliberately installed C3C outside ProgramFiles, and the Conquests Editor has ever had any difficulty finding any of the .biq-, .bix-, or .bic-files which were included in the Civ3Complete package.

The respective map for each Conquest Scenario is included in the specific .biq for that Conquest, so if someone wants to edit any of those maps, the whole .biq needs to be opened in the Editor.

If an existing map is wanted to be used as the basis for a new Scenario, then a new 'Untitled' .biq (i.e. default rules) should first be created, and the Editor allows a desired map to then be imported from its original .biq into the new one.
