Is it possible to mod the game so that civs reflect their true historical patterns?

For instance, could regions of the world be modded to have revolutions during certain time periods and establish a separate empire? (for example, revolutions in the Americas in roughly 17th century to form USA and other nations?)

Could you mod a map so that certain civs merge at a set date and create a new empire? (for example, Angles, Saxons and Britons form English empire in roughly 800 A.D.?)

What would be the fun in that? It would take away the randomness of the games and make them predictable. What would be the motivation of playing if you know that at a set date your civ falls apart due to a scripted revolution, for example?

it would be better if there were a mod which enables revolutions in cities and a small chance of secession of these, espacially in cities which were not on the same continent and far away from the capital....
how in older civ-series. or when you conquer the capital of a foreign city there should be a small chance to split the country in two parts. so it was in civ1. this is the feature which i most miss since civ3....
i kno that some on the german civforum are working on those features....it would be great to see those features back....

that is definetly something that i'd like to see! i remember the "revolutions" from CIV II but if someone could make a "real" revolt much akin to the American Revolution......i dont know what id do.

i know its really soon, but have they released any possibilities for expansion yet?

Exactly. Even after all these years, maybe the one Civ game I still remember is the first Civ 2 game where I accidentally discovered how nations could splinter into two factions. I was playing on an Earth map in North America, and much to my dismay, when I finally discovered an Asian land mass, I saw that one of the civs had managed to seize most of it. I was losing in the space race and in a last ditch kamikaze effort that would make the Japanese battleship Yamato proud, I sent my entire navy and any tanks I could gather to his capital to destroy his space program. Not only did I take over his city, but I was surprised to find his huge empire split into two factions and I was able to win the game. It's still my favorite Civ game ever, and I wish governments would still revolt like that. :goodjob:

Before I begin a hopeless effort, for those familiar with the coding in this game, is it possible to script civs to either:

-- have set civs merge at a certain date on an Earth map?
-- have civs within certain coordinates (e.g. all civs on England) merge into one empire?

Is it possible to write the code in the game so that on any map, some civs will have revolutions and split?
