Is Old World any fun?

I have yet to complete a game, but have really enjoyed it. Definitely still a noob, but learning quickly. Have dabbled with Babylon, Egypt and Rome. I am finding myself addicted. I purchased it at the same time as Humankind and while I gave that a try first, I think I am liking Old World better.

Just finished my first game, as Egypt. I like it a lot!

It took me playing through a whole game and reading a few posts here to really get to grips with what’s going on. But even in my ignorance it definitely has that one-more-turn factor, even if I was sometimes just doing things without knowing why.

There are a lot of thoughtful design decisions that I’m only beginning to understand. I can’t wait to start up game 2 with a bit more awareness of what’s going on.

It definitely took me a bit to feel comfortable. I was able to win with Rome and Babylonia. (Still seems weird to not say "Babylon.")
I found that it is crucial to race and claim as many city sites as you can, kill any barbs or tribes and steal their land, as well.
