Is their any scenario where I can play free france

Just downloaded the mod, looking to play for the first time. But I really don't want to play france, and then be forced axis by events.
Is free france in existence, like in a french schism?

As far as I know, you as a player aren't forced into the Axis camp. Then again, when I played as France, it didn't fall.
