Is there a way to highlight all "Stealth Attack Targets" at same time?

Hi all,

I tried to search for this answer but couldn't find the right search terms, evidently.

I want all my fully upgraded Kings to be able to stealth attack any land unit. Unfortunately, what I thought would work, which is select first unit in list, hold "Shift", and then select last unit, to select every unit in between, does not seem to work.

I can't seem to figure out how to select every target unit without individually clicking on each one, which is problematic because I have many, many units, and there's 31 Kings, so that's a LOT of clicking and scrolling. Too much, actually.

Is there a way to accomplish that with the original C3C editor? Am I missing something obvious? I've already had the frustration of highlighting lots of units for a particular king, and then upon changing his name, having to re-highlight all those units again. STUPID BUGGY EDITOR!!!

 I kind of guessed that would be the response I would get.

The thing is, it's one of the last things I'm doing with the editor before "finishing" my mod, so I didn't want to mess around trying to change editors and chance screwing anything up. That doesn't mean I don't trust Steph's editor, with all the great things I've read about it, but I just didn't trust myself not to use it incorrectly and change anything. Plus, there's the time needed to become familiar with the differences, that I'm not sure I have at the moment (although the time it takes to deal with the C3C editor's flaws may be even more time consuming).

Same answer as Ares :) I would add this: make a backup copy of your biq file before you move to Steph's editor and you won't lose anything. Then it won't take that much time to get used to it, in fact it is way easier than Firaxis' editor. As Ares said, it saves a lot of time.

That wouldn't be the problem. Ever since I had an issue with a disappearing .biq a few years ago, I'm actually obsessively compulsive with saving and backing up copies of everything. It's more that I was worried that I wouldn't notice I'd accidently changed something, and then continue on working on the .biq for a couple of more weeks, and then discovering the problem and having to re-do everything I did. It's paranoia as well as OCD. I guess after working on this mod for 10 years, I'm super paranoid about every aspect of it!

Thanks again for the suggestions, guys. :) As backwards as it sounds, I was going to finish off the last few things, and then when I'm done, switch it over to Steph's editor to do some minor adjustments.

"Stay paranoid, my friend." - Unluckiest Man in the World

I bounce back and forth between the Conquests editor (better for mapwork, and for editing civilizations and governments) and Steph's editor (better for editing units, techs, and improvements). I just have to always remember to redo the terraform flags in Steph's editor before playtesting.

Yes, or do it with the keyboard's arrows?

Have you tried Quintillus' editor?

It happens that I just downloaded the latest version of Quintillus' editor, following an interesting recent discussion between him, steph, and Avalanchmaster (that I can't find again at this moment). I guess I'd been saving that editor to test with a new map, because of all its new terrain features. I really wish that we could merge the best parts of all of the existing editors.

nick0515 and Takhisis,

Unless I'm doing it wrong, neither of those seem to work in the regular editor.

Blue Monkey,

Not sure if that was directed at myself or Balthasar, but I haven't tried any other editor other than the C3C one.

As mentioned, after 10+ years, I'm finally on the verge of completing a version of my mod I'm somewhat content releasing, although I know I could have worked on it forever, so I think I'm going to finish off what I need to, and then save a final version as I have, followed by importing the .biq into Steph's editor (I confess that I know only of Quintillus' editor from a brief mention of it elsewhere, and none of the details of it, as I haven't been overly active on CFC since it's release) to update the Stealth targets for all the kings and save an alternate (hopefully complete and final!) version.

It was an immediate response to Balthasar, but also to you and more generally. As with Steph, Quintillus has made an effort to include features actually useful in modding. Like activating the terrain types previously available only through hex-editing. Plenty more features - and his editor is also cross-platform. The OP is worth reading for an overview. most of the thread is ongoing feedback to the revisions as he continues to refine & extend functionality.

Thanks Blue Monkey,

I'll have a look at that tonight.
