If this is considered art (and it is, Ellsworth Kelly is considered one of the greatest minimalist painters of the post-abstract-expressionist period) then yes, your's is definitly art
It's nice, but not art to me personally. I don't hold with this overall theory of modern art, I like my art to look like something I can recognise sorry
There was a painting at the art museum in Ottawa not too long ago. I forget the exact name ... something like "Voice of Fire". It consisted of three adjacent vertical lines, each a different colour. They actually bothered erecting security fences around it ... but probably to protect the painting from bats, chains and torches, not thieves.
Sometimes in art it seems to be entirely about who you know and how you've created your image. Those other images and pieces of junk you paint and craft are only props.

I think you can make a lot of money selling art like this. But you can't claim its yours though. You have to credit it to some dead guy, because people always appreciate dead guys art more than life guys.
