Is this extraction normal?

I saw this game and was blown away by the scale of it. I downloaded it from file front and everything seemed fine. Now, while I'm extracting it with Zipeg, it went all the way fine. That is, until it reached 99%. Now it's taking around 3 min. to load one item. It is in the area of loading "Media file Bach" "Abu Bakr leaderhead" "an_egyptian_palace_shadow" (don't know what that's supposed to do lol) and "Leonidas leader head" The text names weren't exact as I forgot what they exactly were.

For additonal information, I am running Vista and where able to extract other mods with no problem. Any help? Or is this "normal"?

The rar file is packed as a solid archive meaning that the all the files are treated within the archive as one continuous data stream (like just one file) in order to achieve better compression rate. Using this method shouldn't affect the speed when extracting all files but it does affect the speed if you're trying to extract one or two files from it (since all files need to be analyzed).

I've used Winrar to create the archive and usually use the same program to unzip any kind of archives

I think the delay is because unzipped it will be around 1 GB of data, and that it needs to be transfered from temp files to the extract location. so writing 99% its actually just finishing of by moving all the files.

It takes a lot longer than 3 min. on my rig to extract rom

Did it extract without problems?

No, it had problems. Whn it goes to 99, it's taking 5 min. for one object. That seems far too slow, even for a mod. I'll try another mirror. I've heard a lot of bad towards file front.
