"I've got the game thread!" - Post only if you got the game and where.

All right! The local Gamestop called me at around 6:30 p.m., after I had given up for today, to let me know that their shipment had arrived! (I had reserved it on Tuesday.) Now, after a night at a musical performance, I'm bursting at the seams to start enjoying Conquests!

(I think I'm going to not post for a while, since the designation of my favorite Porsche ever matches my post count: the venerable car that was 15 years ahead of its time in every way, the 959!)

Gamestop here in Montgomery, Alabama, let me down. I had to go to EB Games to find it. It's awesome!

Picked it up last night, Babbages at the Danbury, CT mall. Had Conquests, PTW and Gold Edition end-capped as you walk in, of course I walked right by an almost left, dejected... then... eureka!

Anyway, played for an hour or so, then family plans, played early this AM before my 14hr. shift... which is where I am now. T1 connection, nothing to do all day... system at works runs NT.

Damn it. Only 13 hours until I can play again. I'm impressed with the scenarios, new UU's, etc.

I got the game. Purchased EB (Electronics Boutique) at Mississauga Square One Shopping Centre in Mississauga, Ontario. They have many copies (and tell me it is quite a popular purchase). Purchase price was $39.99 Canadian.

Locations that DO NOT have it:

Computer City - Etobicoke, Mississauga (both locations)
- not even in their computer system

Future Shop - Mississauga (3 locations)
- only just started stocking Civ 3 GOLD on Friday (Nov. 7)
- not in their computer system

Computer City - South Common Mall, Edmonton, Alberta
- not even in their computer system

London Drugs - South Common Mall, Edmonton, Alberta
- knew what I was talking about but didn't have an eta

Future Shop - Calgary Trail, Edmonton, Alberta
- not even in their computer system

(In case you are wondering, I was in Edmonton on business this week and checked around. I live in Toronto, but like the rest of you am a die hard CIV fan).

Regards
Misfit

I just picked up a copy from the Future Shop in Victoria. After trying the Electronics Boutique at the local mall (they haven't even heard of it yet!) I continued on to FS and was rewarded for my patience. They had several copies of both C3C and Civ3 Gold.

Anyone want to buy a copy of PTW? :D

For Austin Texas,

Go to Frys. They have a bunch of them. $29.99, plus you get to wait in that really really long Frys line! What a bargin.

Gamestop on Brodie
asshats, the lot of them. They tried to get me to preorder the game, and then didn't even get it in (as of the 7th) for the people that did preorder it. Then they tried to tell me that the game wasn't going to be released until the 10th and they would have it on the 12th.

Walmart, Target, etc
None of them have it. Although Walmart DOES have a sticker on the shelf for it. They just never have any games.

Compusa
They told me that the game was delayed until futher notice. They had no clue when it would be out, and said it was taken out of their computer.

I got it at a EB Games store in the Westbrook Mall. They had tons of copies there.

I received my copy today from Amazon. Complete with Bonus Disk. You will all understand if this is my last post for several hours/days?

I picked up my copy two days ago at the EB Games Boutique in the mall in Temple, TX. I hereby remove my curse that I set upon them. Yes, I would have posted earlier, but I've been too busy playing C3C.

I paid $29.99 plus tax, no bonus cd.

I lucked out found a copy in Brantford, Ontario at the Future Shop near the 403, Wayne Gretzky exit I think. (I was just passing through town, saw the store from the highway and thought I would try). It was the last one on the shelf though:(
Installing now...;)

Got it, in Copenhagen, Denmark. Almost thought I had to wait 'til the 14th, but yesterday they did actually start selling.

I didn't think the Conquest scenarios would be able to hold my attention compared to the normal game, but they're GREAT!

Now thats interesting! It reminds me that I must check with my local Software shop. They had PTW a month before the official release. (When I think about it, I wonder why I didn´t checked before:hmm: )

edit-crap its sunday, and they are closed:mad:, ohwell I´ll check tomorrow:D

Mine is currently in the hands of the USPS out of Springfield, MA. I should have it in a day or two. (I'm in Southeastern, CT). I ordered mine from Amazon on Friday, and paid 24.99 for the game and the bonus CD. (Free shipping). Amazon originally said that it would take 2-3 weeks for me to get it, but apparantly they found a hidden stockpile of it and have sent my copy out. This will be a long work-week worth of waiting. :p

yippie i got mine wednesday the day it was released and finally i got it to work yippeee hurray

i finally got mine today at the superwalmart in franklin indiana. the walmart here in columbus didnt have it for some reason.

Finally got my copy on Saturday.

I had to pick up a copy of vanilla Civ III as well because I only played it at a friends house and he wasn't planning on getting Conquests.

Shopped around, looking for just plain Civ III instead of the Gold edition to try and save a few bucks since I'd already be getting PTW with Conquests. Finally found the best price in town at Toys R Us at $29.98.

After picking up Conquests my girlfriend and I stopped at Office Max on our to Toys R Us so she could pick up some posterboard she needed. The guy at the register was an 'associate in training' so it took him a while to get her checked out. So I started poking around through a bunch of discounted games they had next to the register, and as luck would have it, on the bottom shelf, hidden behind some other games, I found three copies of vanilla civ III, $9.00.

If anyone is in the Waterloo, Cedar Falls area of Iowa and needs a copy, there are few left at Office Max, near the registers bottom row at the back left.
