Has anybody seen the price of RAM these days?

I just bought 128mb PC133 SDRAM for $50 Canadian.

Jesus. I remember the days when I paid $54 Canadian PER meg.

Jesus RAM????

I've never heard of Jesus RAM. Does it never crash??? Or after windows crashes....does it revive itself after 3 seconds???

I'm sorry...that's lame.

I bought 256 MB RAM for $120 (American) 6 months ago. Now the same RAM from the same site is $49!!! 512MB for $149!!!!

$24 for 128MB!!

And processors!!!!! Man. I bought my 700 MHz processor for $51 6 months ago. Now it's down to $21. And that was a week ago.

Just a little PC vs Mac comparsion here. It's $57 for 128 MB RAM for a G4.
$53 for 32 MB RAM for a G3. $33 for 4 MB RAM for a Powerbook 190 series.

Just a little FYI Genghisk, you know what point I'm making???.

Yep. Haven't you heard?

Jesus RAM is the newest stuff on the market. I priest has to bless it before they can sell it.

My motherboard uses Jesus RAM exclusively.

Yeah. But the DDR ram is still expensive...
FYI too, Corn,

it's just a lure. I mean G4 and G3 runs standard Sdram. That means you can buy pc 133 sdram and throw it in a Mac ram slot. It will work too. But the real reason why those mac rams are more expensive is because they're slightly faster than classic pc133. They've a special interleave rate (I'm not precise because I forgot most of the characteristics. I read that on a mac magazine several months ago). btw, when you buy PC sdram, try to get a "low number" (I don't really remember but there's a number written on each ram chip). That's what I was told.

I believe the low nymber you are refering to GenghisK is the latency. It will be a number like 7 or 8 when dealing with PC133. I have heard that the PC150 memory has a latency of 5.5.

For your information....
The JesusMacOS X already exists. And the Jesus guy too. Look at me. A certain idea of perfection

PaleHorse, glad to see you back. Uh it's not only the latency I was talking about. There's also something else. It like a long serial number. And you have to watch the last numbers, something like that.

That may have to do with a particular brand of memory. I have never heard of RAM being like that. Now I have heard of CPU makers making changes to chips (AMD) that makes them hard to OC (OverClock) and websites putting out information on the CPU Number (Combination of location of manufacture and other number I have no idea what they could mean). Those websites said to get the CPU chip with-in this certain range for easy OCing. Something like that GK?

Oh, BTW, got FTP server up. same ip same login and password
