We cannot spread religion to the unclean...they don't deserve it.
EDIT: If we forget to raze a city, it will be gifted back to the civ we took it from

If you did take Vilcas and not raze it then I suggest to replay the game follow the same moves and raze it according to the Variants. That's what Talamane did we he traded techs which is also against the Variants or I can during my turn gift it back Huyana. Jesusoneez is the teamleader so we could wait until he's back to give input as to what to do.

One question I had during my turnset is about tech trading is this.

Can we trade our tech for an AI's world map?

I assume tech trade only means our tech for AI tech. I did not make this trade, but when asked Washington offered his world map for our Drama.

I don't see why not as we are Xenophobes and would love to have that tactical info to destroy our enemy.

It's easy to forget Berserks I almost forgot with Xian but reminded myself at the beginning of the game.

What Jesusoneez should clarify if we can take barb cities. They aren't technically a civ but might be unclean. OK so I will go back "on deck" until you replay which I think is better.
 
Oh crap, that reminds me. Should we keep Cherokee then? I also took at that barb city during my turnset.
 
Technically barbs aren't a civ and I think Armstrong at one point tried to take that gold city but lost out to another barb eventually. I personally don't see why not but Jesusoneez should elaborate. He isn't back until July 2 but might check in before that.

At some point, JesusOnEez talked about keeping a barbarian city... so... I just figured it was okay. No one barked at me when I took the gold city, either, so I think it's kosher :)
 
Remember, we are trying for the lib slingshot, so after education, we should have set our science on liberalism!
 
Ok, I replayed it to be pretty much the same. The only differences are:

1) We got world map+60g from the Americans for Drama
2) I razed the 2 Incan cities instead of capturing them

I've also noted some possible locations for future cities to capture as resources as we can within our BFC, you guys can change it as you like. We also learned (from the WM) that Saladin is on the same island as Rossy and their island is about the same size as ours. Looks like it might have been the Incan that took out Lizzy. I have a settler heading to Sactuary to move out to a possible city location, and another settler finishing next turn in Kobeyashi Maru. Someone had queued up a theatre in LPlacid after the settler, so I let it finish the theatre before starting another settler. I'm also waiting for Sanctuary to calm down enough that it would only cause 2 sacrifices for the Market being built there. We'll get Liberalism in 16 turns, but I forgot to check if Rossy already has it or not.

GW asks for Philo refuse of course. Brass lions builds samurai start another. Kobeyashi finishes settler start CB to defend whilst archer accompanies settler. Wkrs start farm near Sapporo. Sword kills a barb warrior. Move army towards the next Incan city.

Turn 2

Sapporo finishes monastery start harbor. (Not sure what to do here since Taoism is a unclean religion but was the intention to start building missionaries and spread the religion. Me confused???) Marubeni finishes samurai send him to rally point start Crossbow for defense for upcoming city to garrison. Swords kills barb archer.
Army healing.

Turn 3

Lake Placid finishes theater start university. (good science there) Osaka finishes samurai send to rally point start another. Move army to hill. Wkrs finish farm move to start another (Sapporo). New barb city allemani only 1 pop wait to grow.

Turn 4

HC asks for Peace Treaty won’t offer any techs tried various so I refuse. Bayview starts barracks. Kyoto finishes galley start aqueduct for health. Sanctuary unhappy switch to theater (market getting nowhere) whip it since growing in 1 turn. Edo settles start archer there for defense. Army move towards hill to attack.

Turn 5

Galleys move out with Samurai (2 loads 4 samurai – to deal with new city HC built argh)
Wkrs start another farm near Sapporo. Axes converge on Allemani still 1 pop. Do we even want it anyways???

Turn 6

Cats attack Carihua (name too long) and reduce defenses to 2%. Samurai attacks kills lbm. Samurai attacks kills archer. Samuari attacks kills axe. We raze Carihuasomething.
Wkrs start cottage at Edo. We get GS Euclid send to Lake Placid but realize we have an academy there. He will offer part of Printing Press. Start another farm at Osaka.

Turn 7

Move army to hill. More Samurais moving to rally point.

Turn 8

We meet Monty. Brass Lions finishes Samurai start another. Hinduism reaches our land I refuse. YUK unclean. Bayview builds barracks start Crossbow for defense. Loose cat to take out CB on iron, Samurai follows and finishes him off. Ok I leave GS to discuss amongst Team what to do with him. (DON’T FORGET). He is in Lake Placid.

Turn 9

Kobeyashi Maru done with Crossbow start harbor for health/wealth. Marubeni finishes crossbow start forge. Move army towards capitol??? Nagasaki unhappy whip theater, didn’t loose any science, scientist already gone due to unhappy citizen. Cross irrigate for farms in Marubeni.

Turn 10

Nagasaki finishes theater start university. Drop Samurais near new city started by HC should attack it, won’t need cats there just built. Liberalism in 6 turns and GS in Lake Placid will give us part of Printing Press.

Soon Jesusoneez will be back. I notice that we have Taoism and we built a monastery but I am confused since we didn't found the religion but razed it's holy city. I would like to see religion spread to deal with happiness but also want to stay within the variants.
 
Did you declare on Monty? His religion spread to us, doesn't that mean we need to declare on the founder?
 
You're absolutely right Berserks01, so I went back to the last turn and declared war on him. We are now at war with Monty too so we should get to caravels soon to find him as WW is going to affect us as it already is.

Thanks for pointing that out Berserks01 it didn't dawn on me at the time. Need to have variants imprinted on forehead. D'OH......

Talamane doubt that he will do anything since his score is so low. Maybe he's been at war already.

I won't be able to play until later today, between World Cup, the Tour, and the two Chicago baseball teams squaring off, I'm going to be spending a lot of time in front of the TV today ;)

Okay, I just looked at the save and had some questions/comments.

1) The economic powerhouse (the #1 civ with the 180 GDP, compared to our #2 80 (!)) is Washington. He's going to be very dangerous... however, he has neither Philosophy nor Paper, so we've got Liberalism locked up. What do we want to go for? I'd normally guess Nationalism for Taj & on the path to Cavalry, but we have time to grab Optics->Astronomy too.

2) How much longer to we want to keep fighting Huayna? He has 8 cities left still, not sure how much longer we can keep rolling. We don't have the resources to settle his continent yet - we still have land on our island, and we don't want to fight a land war with him - as it is, he can't retaliate until he gets astronomy. I'd think razing Tiwanaku (his holy city) should get him to offer a tech - he's already offering his world map + gold + gpt, so he's close. If we leave his island completely empty, we risk the first person to Astronomy (probably Washington) settling it. That could be dangerous.

3) Where do we want to build Heroic Epic? I think Osaka might be the best overall place for it now that it has some farms up, and it has forests to chop, but I was considering starting Taj Mahal there. Marubeni would also be good as it's coastal so it can build cheap naval units too, but it has the Forbidden Palace so we can't team it up with West Point.

Any suggestions? I'll play in a little bit. If I don't hear anything I'll go for Nationalism with Liberalism and on to cavalry as has been suggested. I'll settle if HC's defenses look strong and he's willing to settle for a "fair" price.

I agree with going for Nationalism to get Taj Mahal.

Also GW is always dangerous I find. He can be a real pain but we have to take him out somehow. I bet it won't be long before he gets Astronomy and for now will leave us alone but will settle where Huyana once was. If he settles on our land we have to declare on him. So getting our land settled is probably good but we are getting there.

I was wondering what we are doing with Taoism?? We built a monastery but can we even spread this religion??? And Monty's religion spread to us so I had to declare war. (Berserks01 pointed that out I forgot)

Going for cavalry next is good too. Sounds like you already made all the sound decisions........
