I defeated Hawlord for 3rd position and Portuga concedes in front of Misfit Travel !
Considering the way Portuga beat me Misfit must definitely be a though player !

That was a great idea of Loulong. And amazingly this contest is finished. I for myself was very sceptical it could have reached even the second round.
Major kudos to Loulong for organizing this! It was a fun to "watch" and probably twice more fun to play.

One thing I'd do differently is that as Japan, I'd go after China harder, and as the Allies, I'd try to get Island hopping sooner with the Dutch. I'd sit back more and try to pick off stragglers of the Japanese navy rather than confront them. Also, for the Japs, a solid first turn is a make or break as to what comes next...

If any of you really like the WWII in the Pacific, you should check out Eric's fantastic mod called Typhoon of Steel (TOS). It's fantastic. If it looks good to any then PM and I'll set up a PBEM game.

I agree with Sully. Eric_A's TOS is a much better (and fairer) scenario than the Firaxis one.
I used every trick in the book to take blatant advantage as the Japanese. Most of my opponents didn't see it coming.
Eric_A's TOS is much fairer and gives the Allies a decent shot.

Well apart from the fun
Trouble with going for the CHinese is that the allies get built up a bit bigger and are harder to shift. I just tried that, might have been Loulongs constant battering of my resources mind. Sending more forces into China meant that he could attack my infastructure for longer and in the end it slowed down my advance too much.
Oh well you learn by your mistakes.
