I was curious about it, do you keep on playing after you've won the game? I do exactly this, if there is still left enough challenge from the other civs. So, what do you do?

I nuke the planet til there is nothing left literaly nuclear fall out is cool ...

I always do - I don't care what the situation at 2050 is, I play until every inch of the globe is under my control.

Actually, I've never finished a game, after about a month of playing on a huge map I either lose the save or my interest in Civ for a bit.

I quit the game as soon as I win. i don't see any point in continuing.

Me too. I also quit the game a whole lot before I loose :)
But I don't see the point of keeping to play after your victory... Although the idea of a Fallout ending quite appeals to me (these nukes MUST have some use)

I usually win by domination but that is not satisfying enough so I will keep on playing until it's a conquest. Even on huge maps, I'll keep going.

I usually win by domination too.
Still, i rarely continue the game, as i rush to the edit, add some units/resources, modify some stats, and on again with a new game.

I usually stop before victory once I know theres no more challange.

I stop when I'm done. What's the point of hanging around if you don't get scored? :p No that's not rhetorical I'm asking! j/k

I don't play for the score - in fact, if the was an option to turn off the 2050-end date, I would. In my view the objective is to win, and my definition of win is = total world domination :p

I have only played 1 game past the 2050 date, and that was very early in my civing. I was on warlord and lost the UN vote. So I made sure that I nuked the UN and also everyone that voted for them.

I was America and England had the UN. the Russian's French and Chinese were the voters.

But since then I have never seen any point in going past my victory(most have been military anyway)

Sometimes, only if I've grown attached to the game. ;) Most of the time I'm glad to get it over with- but often I like to play more. In one of my chieftan games, however- which I still play because it's fun- I can play now that I'm not worrying about my reputation. I can't count the times I've nuked London.

I almost never continue the game after it is won. By then I usually tired of playing it, and ready for a new game. So, I just start a new one.

Keep playing after "official" victory? Maybe this is a little overkill, but I still have the very first game of CIV 3 I ever played. The year is something like 6200 (approx. haven't played it in a great while) I was the Romans and I kept a war with one other huge civ (the only other besides me) going for about 2000 years. Why? Why not? It was a fun war. We beat each other to oblivion with nukes (I didn't build a missle defense and prevented the AI from doing so either, more fun that way.) After a while neither of us could really support much of an army since our production capability was basically 0. It became a whole new game to see who could recover from the devastation. I kept at it and eventually managed to conquer the other Civ. I set the goal of clearing up all the pollution, then I sat back and ruled my desert world empire for another millennia.

I generally turn off the domination win option (along with the cultural one) as a couple times I've been on the crux of turning my last AI opponent or two from an organized cohesive nation to a scattered collection of cities trying to resist my attacks when the game pops up with a victory and denies me the natural follow-through of razing cities that don't see the inevitability of my victory. But, I would play through 2050 if I hadn't already conquered my opponents.

I agree with him.

My idea is if there are any civs left after I win... I KILL THEM ALL:ripper: :rocket: :rocket2: :sniper: :tank: :soldier: :shotgun:
