Khazad Defensive Options

What do you guys use for defending Khazad cities.

Personally I generally go 3-4 longbow equivs as a staple and then more for chokepoint cities, but Khazad don't seem to have upgrades from dwarven slinger's, so wondering what's a good mid/late game setup.

You defend by attacking. It's the best solution for almost every civ.

Kill the enemy outside your cities, before they pillage stuff.

Khazad have a unique bonus to city defense, so melee units do well for them even on the defensive. You should always pick Kandros Fir as well, so your aggressive melee troops should rarely be found wanting. Don't forget to get some Enchantment adepts as well.

The other thing about the Khazad is the Ingenious trait. You can leave obsolete units defending your backwater cities safe in the knowledge that a very small amount of gold will bring them up to standard.
