Killing Barb Pillager does give gold

I have professional armies (max out honor tree) but when my sentinel killed a barb pillager (spearman barb) I received no gold.

Same when my Sentinel killed a barb war chariot. Also it seems composite archers don't feel like giving gold.

I remember reading a few months ago that there are certain circumstances in G&K where combat against barbarians does not give expected rewards. I don't remember what those circumstances are, but it's a vanilla bug in the game core only Firaxis has access to. All kills from Professional Army are controlled by the same setting:

GoldFromKills="200"

(it gives gold equal to 2 times unit strength)

I've noticed it randomly too but didn't pay too close attention. I did note that the culture seemed to always be awarded, and I could swear one time it looked like the gold award was behind the culture award; the numbers were overlapping.

Could this be a display bug? Are you sure that you gain no gold?

Times I get it and other I know I don't. When I don't get it displayed I see no change in my gold. Hopefully Fireaxis get around to it.

Now that I think of it, I do recall a few cases where I didn't see any culture value appear on the map. I've never checked this against my current numbers.

is it ranged vs melee attacks that makes a difference, like for GG points?

That's what I was thinking it would be too (the ranged/melee GG issue).

It sounds like it might even be related to vanguards?

Speaking of gold rewards : Is it normal that i get 300 gold per barb camp in GEM? ( marathon )
Thats rather lot. Shanghai will get 900 with such ratio - settler rush buy is 820 to compare.
