I recently just started playing Kings Bounty The Legend. I have always loved strategy and role playing games, but it is difficult to find a game that mixes this elements together very well. Final Fantasy Tactics is one of my all time favorite video games and recently discovered this gem Kings Bounty.

I was just curious to see if anyone else on this forum plays this game. Maybe someone could point me in a direction of a great strategy guide or FAQs? Thanks a lot :smoke:

kings bounty is not even a *game*

there is no point to it after you play 10 min
you cant lose, you can only win well or bad

the "goal" of the game is just winning so well you dont have to bother to go back and forth to buy every time troops

just because its boring, not cause its a gameplay mechanics, you cant finish troops, you can sometimes finish the ones you love cause the game is full random but there is always something to buy

so basically its a big adventure masked as a strategy game

the tactical combat is great, one of the best i saw in pc gaming but after you understand not a single battle matter, its just 10 20 100 1000 combats all the same, all that dont matter

even a pizza or a icecream is boring after you eat it 1000 times in a row

As someone who was not able to finish KB - The Legend due to money shortage I have to disagree.
If you too often lose too many troops, then you'll be at some point stuck, because you can't buy new troops anymore. And at that point you can consider the game lost.

I also love the mixture of the RPG and combat part.
In KB it's somehow better than in HoMM, because you don't have to think about managing (and defending) your cities. That gives the whole thing more an explorer like touch, and allows you to focus more on your hero and killing stuff.

I also have Armored Princess, and finished that one (didn't spend that much gold on runes). Haven't yet bought Warriors Of The North, because I'd first need a new PC.

Thank you, I'm happy to hear an intelligent response rather than just flaming the game because you don't like it... But anyways I heard of the other titles in the series and I might try Armored Princess after this one, but the same as you I would have to buy a new video card to play WoTN.

Also can you tell me what "HoMM" is?

HoMM = Heroes of Might and Magic (guess you might know it ;)).
Tried only part 4, but it was a bit too tedious for me. Managing all the different heroes, troops, refilling the troops, etc, etc. seemed a bit pointless, don't know :dunno:.

For Armored Princess, be aware that it's basically the same as The Legend, but with another story/new world and a few more troops.
Is sure as much fun as The Legend, but nothing new.

Oh ok thanks. Do you know of any good strategy or FAQs out there? Like we have in this great community here.

Edit: For Kings Bounty. :D

I haven't really read any FAQs, but I've used this walkthrough, but only for the maps.

Since it seems that you're not yet through the game, then for end game, for the labyrinth, I really suggest that you use the map from here, else that can get really damn confusing.

No I'm not through the game yet, I assume still pretty early at level 6, completed about a dozen mission/quests. Thanks for the link, I probably will use just for the maps too, I don't like to use a guide to walk me through the entire game.

I guess I was looking for something containing information about the game mechanics. Since I have yet to find anything it looks like I will learn as I go. Sometimes that is the best way! :goodjob:

yepyep I played every game from beginning to end of campaign. The most part I liked was Armored Princess, while Crossworlds being some campaign named but short scenarios in it. The latest was Kings Bounty III - Warriors of the North to play with Vikings a campaign.
Yup there is that official forum, like getting that map, to get some infos.

There are also a large bunch of other 1c games I played, which all have their subsections there on official forum
