Know any Civ3 command line options, or any more INI file options?

Hi. I was looking over the Civ3 readme.txt file and was looking for any command line options or INI file options, well here's some INI options that I found:

//--------------------------------------------------------------------------

[NoSound] Disables all sound in-game.
NoSound=0

[Video Mode] (1792/1600/1280/1152/1024) Force screen resolution to one of these settings. (default is 1024)
VideoMode=1024

[Refresh] You can try higher frequencies, but 60 is good starting location. If it can't set the frequency, it will default to what Windows believes it should be. If you are not having monitor or frequency problems, do not use this ini setting. There's a problem with WinXP if you install the 1.29f patch, you have to set this option to 60 for the game to work.
Refresh=60

[KeepRes] When set to 1, your desktop resolution will be what the game uses. 1024x768 screens will be centered, but you will be able to see much more of the map on one screen.
KeepRes=1

[Quickstart] When set to 1, will immediately skip the logo's and Quickstart a game using the same settings you used for your previous new game. Sometimes you need to play a game ASAP :) !
Quickstart=0

//------------------ Civ3:PTW and C3C options ---------------------//

[PlayIntro] When set to 0, will bypass the intro logo's and the game intro!!! :cool: I wish this worked with the original Civ3 though.
PlayIntro=0

[NoAIPatrol] (implemented in 1.26f) Added an INI file option to turn off AI patrolling. The option is NoAIPatrol and if set to 1, the AI will no longer use its units to randomly patrol if they have nothing else to do. The default is 0 (meaning the AI will patrol). In multiplayer games, the host's setting will be used for all players.
NoAIPatrol=0

[NoForceFeedback] (implemented in 1.21f) Added INI tweak to disable force feedback support:
NoForceFeedback=0

//--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Also in the INI file's // works as a comment, so for example; if this was placed in the INI file:

Code:
//[NoSound] Disables all sound in-game.
NoSound=0
The "//[NoSound] ..." line would be ignored in the INI file and this makes the INI file easier to understand.

If you haven't found them yet, the Civ3 ini files are located here:
Civ3: \Civilization3.ini
PTW: \CIV3PTW\ptw.ini
C3C: \Conquests\conquests.ini

I really think the QuickStart option is the coolist thing since Il Mafioso's Wonder Splashes :D (Well I might be pushin it there). You can just dbl click Civ3's shortcut and start a new game to make your day fly by. But i'm curious if there's any options for the command line. What would be great is if you could specify which INI file you would like civ3 to use! That way you could set up hundreds of Civ3 shortcuts (hehe j/k) that each have a different INI file with different quick start settings. So one shortcut would use americans on Warlord, another would use germans on Deity, another would use ...

Does anybody know any Civ3 command line options? Or remember any Civ1/Civ2 command line options, they might still work with Civ3!

Ok, i'm try not to talk to myself :crazyeye:
But seriously, I had an idea that sounded pretty cool and now since I said it outloud, if I fail now ya'll can laugh at me.

I found this site - http://www.rekenwonder.com/linkmagic.htm that will let you mount a directory over top of another directory and http://www.hlm.inc.ru/ that will let you mount a file over another file in Win2k/XP (whoa)!!!

So if you can guess what imma try, I'll give you a cookie. Plus, you get to laugh at me if I f'up :p

Is this line supposed to be in the .ini from the start (if so, I can't find it), or can I just add it?

And would changing GridOn=1 to =0 mean I won't have to activate the grid manually each time I start/load a game?

Yep, that one's a winner serpico, thx!

Hawk, if you remeber about how long ago that post was, that'd make finding it a little easier. I wish this site had more resources (HDD space, bandwidth, more TIME!) to make the search feature work again.

(I'm still workin on learning about reparse point's - so if ya'll have any guess's - i got chips'a'hoy! :) )
