LAN/Direct IP connect OOS problems

Hi a lot of people have been posting about LAN/Direct IP OOS problems.

I'm sure there used to be more threads about this but they seems to have dissapeared.

Im going to guess that the reason that its mainly LAN/Direct IP people are they are more likely to have brought the game then installed in on a housemates/family member computer and used a NO-CD patch.

Rather than normal multi-player were people using a cracked version know they wont be able to connect.

Is this right is this why the posts seem to have dissapeared ?

Is this why fixaxis have made no comment ?

We generally delete discussions of piracy here on sight, but I don't think the OOS MP problem is particularly related to using pirated software, it appears to be a problem in applying the patch over an old installation.

And I can't speak for Firaxis (nor would I want to), but as they haven't announced anything at all regarding the 3.13 patch or followup bugs/fixes, I don't think they're silent on this because of anything piracy-related.

I had the same problem with 3.13, and for some weird reason it worked when we turned random events off!!!

yeah, the random events are causing it...

Yeah, a friend of mine was having problems with out of sync from the latest patch. Turning random events was a workaround.

One solution is just to copy the entire directory over - it fixed the problem, however now when they join games it comes up with a *MOD* warning, for some strage reason. It fixed it though.

The other solution would be just to reinstall everything, that should work.
