Screen on my laptop often flickers as if the power delivered to it drops suddenly. I don't know if this is due to the AC adaptor, or the line it is attached or, or the screen itself. Can someone explain this?

Is the power drop continuous or intermittent? If it's intermittent then you might want to check the connectors on the AC Adaptor. The wall plug, the box itself, and the plug going into the back of the laptop, and also check the wires for any fraying/holes in the insulation and such.

Also try reseating the battery. My laptop always flickers slightly in brightness when switching power sources, and this sounds like what your laptop is doing. Also, keep in mind, most laptops 'store' different brightness settings for AC power and Battery operation. Try setting the brightnesses differently so you can tell what it's running off of at any given time, since the taskbar entry doesn't update as often as it should.

so you are saying my laptop is probably continuously swithing between running on battery and running on AC power?
I actually run my laptop mostly on AC power, with the battery also in the laptop. The screen goes from bright to slightly darker, and then almost immidately brighten up again. It seem to be doing this at random frequency.

Id be careful around that. If you can try to open the battery and see if any of the chips on it are cracked. Otherwise just be careful since this happened to me a day before my laptop exploded.
