laptop crash 5 minutes into game

Have had Laptop 3 years Asus gaming Republic. Had game just as long from previous version upto civ 5 in last year. NEVER an issue. No I'm crashing 5 minutes into game. Saved games, new games. Dumbed down vid options to lowest settings. Core temp not an issue, temps in the 70's to low 80's.
Any history of this and know fixes? Rest of my operations are fine. I play WGT and WARBIRDS on here with no stoppages.
