This thread is a good opportunity to clear something up I havent been 100% sure about. Theres a difference beween 'English' and 'British', right? There are the Scots, the English, the Welsh (have I left anyone out?), who are all British. So if this guy had said that they couldnt be called English (as opposed to British) there would be no controversy. Is that correct?

Largely, yes. There are slight genetic differences demonstrated by mitochodrial DNA (particularly in areas such as the Scottish islands, where there's a heavier Scandinavian legacy), but on the whole it's as near to nil as makes no difference.

The man is simply stating BNP policy, ask any BNP member or supporter and they will tell you an African and Asian cannot be British, so I dont know why this is such a shock or indeed newsworthy.
