I think the leaders for the civs should be representative of the golden age they had. These are my suggestions (civs omitted i know little about or i agree with their current leader):
ROme: Augustus
Greece: Pericles
China: Liu Pang (1st Han Emperor)
India: Ashoka
Egypt: Rameses II
Babylon: Nebuchadnezzar or keep it as Hamurabbi
Russia: Peter the Great or keep it as Catherine
America: Washington, FDR, or maybe keep it as Lincoln
France: Charlemagne or Louis IV
Persia: Darius I or possibly Cyrus I

erm...maybe, but i would say the golden age dates back to post WWII

Rome: Nero
England: Richard III
America: Nixon
Russia: Stalin
Germany: Hitler
France: Napoleon III
Egypt: Akhenaten
Persia: Darius II

1. Augustus is much more representative of the Pax Romana, he started it!
2. England's real golden age was the elizabethean era, especially after the fall of the spanish armada
3. Nixon??? Vietnam is the golden age??? If anyone JFK would symbolize a golden age near the time period youre looking at.
4. Stalinism was not a golden age, by civ definition. The extra prodcution came from factories built through forced labor, which is accurately portrayed by rush jobs killing population in civ. THe extra production, commerce from a golden age does not apply,
5. The Third Reich could be a golden age, yes, but the period after unification under Bismark would also work.
6. OK, Napoleon III would be another possibility.
7. Ditto above for Egypt.
8. The real lorious height of persia was under darius I. He really organized the empire of cyrus and cambysus (or whatever his name is) and added a strong bureacracy, making his rule the golden age.

If you really want a communist leader of russia to associate with a golden age, use Gorbachev

I see you took my post too seriously.

Realistically, this time.

France: Louis XIV
England: Henry II (although it could be argued that England has had several Golden Ages)
Rome: Augustus
Persia: Darius I
Egyptians: Rameses II

The others civs I agree with those chose in the game.

What about Nebuchadnezzar for babylon, or liu pang for china...nebu began the chaldean golden age

Well, there are really two separate Babylons with Hammurabi and Nebuchadnezzar representing their respective Golden Ages. However, Hammurabi is the more well-known of the two and thus probably the better choice. My Chinese history knowledge is almost non-existant, so why not?

They have chosen the leader people know most. Remember that it's not only history fans that will play. Caesar is the best known Roman today. Same thing for Alexander the Great or Cleopatra.

Yeah, I know :( ...I just think it should be how i said...
