I like the hair.

I can't say the beard is the best I've seen, but I don't think the beard is horrible (It seems better than before). I think the best comparison among Civ3 leaderheads would be his neighbor to the south (I think the statue appears to have rings around the beard)

I guess none of the Civ3 leaderheads have a silver helmet (I don't suppose its possible to make it silver and shiny, is it?)

For armor, what about something like what Hanibal is wearing (maybe as a test).

I'm in no hurry, so take your time (as long as it gets finished eventually).

After reading about Assyrian fashion for beards from several websites, I decided that the rings in the statue's beard are probably tight curls of hair. I could be mistaken though. Anyway, it was a pain to draw and rings would be a lot easier to handle. I'll try how they look. I've also already narrowed the beard a bit after posting that preview.

I can make the helmet silver and shiny in ten seconds and I also can grab Hannibal's armor. But not before christmas.

Oh yeah, is the skin better now?
