Lethal Bombardment

Are you using it? I have another question. Will the land or sea unit fire back at the aircraft? I doubt it would. If it doesn't and you are the only Civ with flight, all you would need is a few aircraft, no navy and only a few ground units to hold the captured cities. Seems to mess up the game balance even though lethal bombardment seems to be a good idea. I might just turn on lethal sea bombardment. Any ideas?

Thanks
Bob

For me, it looks correct. I mean, if only one Civilization have flight capabilities, it's supposed to be invencible in war.

I just imagine now the great naval wars. Carriers filled with fighters and bombers, being scorted by subs and battleships. To actually be able to have an sea offensive, 1th you have to achieve air superiority.

And ship battles in the middle of the ocean, instead of having the ships just to patrol the coast.

I think that the lethal bombardment have enhanced the combat possibilities of the game.

regards :-)

Is if fighters could run Air Superiority Missions from Carriers. Now THAT would add a whole new dimension to warfare, and make Carriers much more useful (any competent fleet would need a Carrier to protect against enemy aircraft; MUCH like modern war in that respect).

But yes, aircraft should have lethal bombardment ONLY against naval vessels. However, when santo67 finishes his promising A-10 Tank Killer bomber, it will be awesome to give that Ground lethal bombardment, and not sea lethal bombardment. It will be awesome seeing modern armor get ripped apart by the ol' Warthog!

(Anyone else remember that old game A-10 Tank Killer? I played that game to death . . . until a certain game called 'Sid Meier's Civilization' consumed all of my gaming time ;))

Fighters can run air superiority from carriers. In fact, the patch fixed a bug concerning this.

* Air units now stay on interception if their carrier moves.
