Let's talk about the Civ3 Demo!!!!

I'd rather say a "shareware" version. Now everybody is doing that (e.g. Blizzard)
But I don't think it's a good idea to release a playable demo version, especially before the official release of the Gold CD. People would be frustrated not to be able to finish it in the demo.
And I don't think they need a demo version for Civ3 to become a hit in the charts...

But if there is a demo, I'd like it to give all the available units and be turn limited. I wouldn't like it to be turn unlimited but units-limited...

I'd be happy with anything revealing.

But because they know we are all waiting for the real release, I don't think they'll let us wait any longer and release it when it's fully working.
Perhaps there will be a free beta version...

Myabe they will realise a demo that is like the real one with the eception that you can only play one tribe, build one city, have two differnet militasry units, only five cityimprvoments, no caravans, diplomats or things like that, only one transport, you can only play 10 turns, you can only play agains one enemi civilization.

Would you still want it?

I expect they could have a tutorial scenario type setup, it would be say a fairly small world with one civ in that lasted 30 turns. You could win by killing the other civ or reaching a research goal first or reach a certain population size, thus enabling you to explore the various options and play it again and again until the big one comes out!

You're dreaming then <IMG SRC="http://forums.civfanatics.com/ubb/wink.gif" border=0>
OR you're a married with a Firaxis programmer woman <IMG SRC="http://forums.civfanatics.com/ubb/biggrin.gif" border=0> That should be good!

Are there any female game programmers in the world? <IMG SRC="http://forums.civfanatics.com/ubb/wink.gif" border=0>

i would be glad enough if they just update the homesite.

I don't think that they will, because they don't need to...Firaxis is well aware of the anticipation level of the fans. I would like to see a demo, but I can do without one just the same.

I don't care about the demo....

I just want that game!!!

Mmm, finally I think you're right after all... If there aren't female programmer in Firaxis, perhaps there are (attractive) secretaries. Anyway, I'm slipping a bit off.

Seriously, Az is right <FONT COLOR="green"><FONT size="4">WE WANT THE GAME!</FONT s></FONT c>
Don't care of the demo.

I agree with Az. Heck with a beta version. Bring on the Game itself and the hours of fun conquering the world and making your enemies eat your tank dust.

Yes, wouldn't a beta version or demo delay the real game release?
I wouldn't want that.
