Letting people die

Oh well. I guess the US has a different perspective then. Here it's the Crown who prosecutes you. Not the citizenry.

That makes a little difference, maybe. In the US there is a very strong current of "I am in no way responsible for any action taken by the government, I just happen to be here." I'm not sure how it came about, but it is really pervasive. Irresponsibility is always attractive, I suppose.

Disillusionment with the electoral process, for starters.

Who's electoral process are you disillusioned with? Not liking how the people representing you are selected does not change the fact that they do represent you. It just puts a buffer between your conscience and what they do in your name.

Criticisms of fptp aside, in many cases the issue is who others have selected and not some buffer in my mind. In some cases these politicians require removal.

At the end of the day, I take responsibility for the actions of my government...even the actions that sicken me the most. That's why when you say that "in some cases these politicians require removal" I may be able to get means of removal past my conscience that your conscience would not allow you to contemplate.

Responsibility provides incentive to demand action.

What means does that include? Economic starvation (of malicious corporations)? Homicide? Revolution?

How have you been going about ending the US government's proxy war in Ukraine, recently?

The "proxy war in Ukraine" is pretty far down the list of things I'm concerned about. Far enough in fact that I wouldn't even refer to it as that.

As to my methods, I have completely ceased generating taxable income, and demonstrate to people that doing so is possible with far less discomfort than most people realize. I take an active part in the electoral process despite being ineligible to vote personally. I provide what those who benefit most from the apathy of the citizenry have referred to as an 'aggressively antagonistic' voice. My participation in the economy of consumption is severely limited. And if it ever seemed like an effective method I'm not above homicide or revolution, but for the most part we are nowhere near having a sufficient consensus to make those useful, in my opinion.

Kind of provincial, but I liked the rest of the post, so...

Even though widespread of adoption of your lifestyle would depress malignant companies, the political class is not above portraying such asceticism unfavorably, nor would they forget about election-rigging tools 'just in case.'

Consensus is probably a luxury as there's plenty of propaganda to go around.
