the pre export set up of the export script is no longer needed, you can select the nif version if you export a model in the newer versions

did you try this?
-Install blender first
-install the nifscripts into the same directory
when blender starts you need to
-Run the import and export script at least once to register the scripts in Blender's configuration system:
File -> Import -> NIF -> Cancel.
File -> Export -> NIF -> Cancel.

Thanks to TheLastone36

for some reason you have to try to export and import a nif before doing the configure steps in 2.43 (& I guess 2.45)

Coyote is right ! This setting crap process is no longer needed. All you need is follow the steps ekmek just recalled except I'm not sure the registration thing is necessary at all for 2.47 or higher.It must only be a "just once" action ie no need to do it with every version of blender or nifscript.

Edit pending with pics and instructions ...

Sorry. Double post.

Sorry. Double post.

Almost a triple post really there Madman.

About the LH: I think his skin looks yellow/fake. Like a simpsons character, you should be able to change that pretty easily using a saturation filter or whatever the hell its called.

Hey I wanted to take a look at this guy in blender, and everytime I load up one of the possible nifs that is in the folder they are all either mussolini or augustus. Where is Silvio? (and by mussolini I mean with hat and everything).

Silvio is in Mussolini.nif... I made only a change of the hat with the upper part of the head of Simon Bolivar and a texture paste :crazyeye:
I just downloaded from database to see if i didn't uploaded a fake (for mistake)... and Berlusconi IS in Mussolini.nif
The texture is de_gaulle_diff.tga
