Like riding a bike?

Does anybody ever get rusty if they haven't played civ for a while? I dug civII out of the cupboard after a rest of probably about 18mths. I thought that my skills wouldn't be too hot with that long a gap so I dropped down to Emperor level for the game. By the end of the game I wound up with one of my best emperor scores ever. To be fair I did employ SSC tactics which I found here but I was very surprised that I was on such form after so long. Guess playing civII is like riding a bike huh?

I gave up playing Civ2 for over 2 years once.

When I started again I was at least as good within a week, and I was playing twice as well as I ever had within 6 weeks.

The brain is odd. Sometimes it learns best when you're not doing something. I've been playing the guitar for 35 years. I once had a 4 or 5 year rest from it. There was one riff I could not play for years beforehand, no matter how hard I tried. After that long long break, I picked up a guitar and played the riff straight off!
