We are still playing Gotm15-Russia but many players have already submitted and are looking ahead to what comes next.

Gotm16-Rome will be a very exciting game and will open on schedule at the beginning of February and I amd certain that no one will want to miss playing this game. ;)

Looking even further into the future, we are planning Gotm17 to be an equivalent game that you may play in your choice of either Civ3v1.29 or PTW. You pick!!

To support Gotm17 there will be an equivalent Civ used to represent the exact same play characteristics as Carthage but in the v1.29 software version.

To make sure that players have equal access to advance preparation for the Gotm17 game, we will be hosting two Qsc style succession games beginning on or about February 10th. Preference for the limited number of player slots in the QSC-C2 games will be given to existing GOTM players and to players who have played and submitted the Qsc16 games for the Rome event in February.

If you would like to plan to participate in the practice/warm-up QSC-C2 games for Gotm17 please plan ahead to make sure you get Gotm16-Rome well in hand before the expected play dates for the QSC-C2 games. the QSC-C2 games will only play the first 120 turns of the games but you can play them on forward after that point in time and still compare notes with other participants.

If you would like more information on these QSC games or if you would like to pre-register for the games, please read the registration thread and follow the instructions and examples set in the previous QSC style succession games.

QSC-C2(a & b) registration thread

DO NOT post in this thread as a substitute for following the registration process for these short practice games.

Just a reminder to all GOTM players and Qsc Players that we will be hosting these short term test games starting on February 10th to let players get a little advanced exposure to many of the features that may be included in Gotm17.

These test games will only last 120 turns of play (you can play on independently if you wish, a number of players always do).

Gotm17 will be available to play in your choice of Civ3v1.29 or PTW (if the new patch is released shortly as expected).

BUT PLEASE PAY ATTENTION: These Qsc-C2 games will be played in Civ3v1.29 with a required download patch that will make the game "equivalent to" PTW for most of our play purposes.

I encourage you to play these register for these test QSC games if you have time because they will help you to better understand the added values or reduced play challenges that you may find in the PTW version of the game without forcing you to purchase the software to assess how these features impact the Strategic thought parts of the game.

I will be completing the roster assignments this weekend so please check your schedules and register now if you would like to be included in the data analysis part of the test games.

cracker - QSC is normally until 1000BC is it not? That is 80 turns, not 120.

I assume these QSC tests will finish later?

Some noobie questions (and please forgive my ignorance):

1) What is the QSC submission email?

2) I am thinking of hosting a webpage for my GOTM16 QSC (maybe the whole thing). Should I submit my timeline to you in plain text format as well?

I am very impressed with this GOTM, and hopefully this will lead on to me to playing it every month :)

Annares,

You are correct that the default Qsc format is played to bc1000 which is 80 turns.

These special succession games use the Qsc scoring formula in a slightly different way and this asks players to play the game in distint 10 turn bites that are grouped into 30 turn segments for the purpose of discussion and data analysis. The sequence is basically:
10-20-30- Report
data analyis
discussion
40-50-60-Report
etc.

Some players play on ahead and just save all the required saves and prepare their timeline reports in 10 turn blocks. You can see the examples of the tis really well demonstrated in Qsc-C1 Irritated Mao.

In these special QSC-C2 games we will not use email for submission but will upload and post the games to the game progress threads at the end of each player's turn reports.

The submission email for all Qsc games related to the GOTM games is quick_start@civfanatics.net

Feel free to host a webpage of your exploits in the Qsc16 or Gotm16 games, but be sensitive to unintentional spoiler problems that can result from spiders and search index functions. You can address this internally within your foramtting and then just get on with your presentation. You should still submit at least a text version of your timeline.

It is a good idea to rememeber to make sure that your CFC member name is part of the filename for every file that you submit with any game submission. This just helps to avoid losing any of the pieces as the submissions are processed.

Congrats on your medal in the 3x tournament Annares. :goodjob:

Thanks for the response cracker. :)

I was aware of the potential for spoiler information for QSC and GOTM, and would not publish my webpage untill the relavant spoiler threads were open, and would link from there.

Once again, thank you cracker for all the hard work you are doing here.
