Recently upgraded my hard drive and reinstalled Civ 3. It's been months since I've played and have to say 1.21g makes Civ playable in X. Yes, there is a noticable small delay inbetween turns, compared to 1.17f (or whatever it was), but the increased speed when using the 'pedia and in the graphics overall is wonderful. (I have a Beige G3/300.)

I've installed the Sn00py graphics mod, but was wondering what other Mods people use. Being lazy, don't wanna hunt and experiment.

Thanks,
Bantok

I've installed the Multi-Figure Units - I like the idea of a Unit being more than 1 guy.

Yep. I have multi-units installed as well. I also have the greener snoopy graphics mod installed. And... that's pretty much it :). Well, I did mod the resources a little as well. And I'm using new barb camps/goody huts. :D

I'm using snoopy's graphic mod as well, but that's it. I have altered my mod.bic for some units. I did give armies the ability to pillage, like in PTW.

Hey, those multi-units look great. However, the files appear a bit too formidable to download and install at the moment. senecasax and DnG -- remembering that some of us will be on slow modems -- how was the download and install? Did you have to do anything with those 'INI' files? I imagine that it is not as automatic as it appears for the PC folks. Can we just download one group (say Swordsman) at a time and then install it after backing up the original file/folder? I'll wait for some advice before I take the next step, but those graphics will make Civ3 look more and more like a wargames table. Great!; that is how I got into all this nearly thirty years ago.

Sid- Everything needed for the Multi-units is included when you download them. Just back up your old graphic files, and copy the new ones straight into the unit graphic folders. All .ini's are included n all. One unit at a time works just fine.

Thanx, DnG. I tried it -- despite my qualms -- yesterday and now have this bunch of Swordsmen parading around. It's great!

All you have to do is replace the folder in your units folder. It includes everything; sounds, animations, and .ini.
