Little questions & answers thread

Is clicking down to the promotion tree the only way to see the Army Commanders XP ?
Since they simplified it so he's the only unit (?) with promotions&XP, seems like an odd UI choice not to make that more visible somehow

When settling on a navigable river, it seems you can only place urban tiles on the same side of the river as the city center because all urban tiles must be adjacent to one another and the river is a hard border.

Does anyone know when it (hopefully) unlocks so I can develop the other side of the river?
with buildings that go in the river

I'm playing my first game as Isabella, and after discovering a natural wonder, I didn't get 300 gold.

Is this perhaps because you have to be the first to discover it? Is it a bug? Or am I missing something?

I'm playing as Axum in the Antiquity Age and after researching Sailing, I cannot build the dhow even though I have access to a navigable river. Why?

It's just me or are all the population numbers just borked? I have 27 population in my city, but only 12 rural districts. Or is that when you place a building population goes up as well?

Both urban and rural population is population.

Is there a resource somewhere explaining how yields for particular terrains are calculated? The Civilopedia is useless.

How do you calculate the distance for "connected cities" for towns sending food to? It seems quite small (5 tiles), also they do not grow even if they don't send their food away.

Free production and food in the beginning ?
Turn 1: Scout and Warrior are made in 1 turn costing 1production (this one makes sense since you start with nothing)
Turn 3: City grows while on turn 2 it was saying it would grow in 5 turns (seemingly it gifts the first citizen for free, giving you overflow for the third)

IS there a way to queue techs/civics?

Very frustrating that I can't click a locked tech to queue the prereqs like in civ iii

I think every settlement gets one free growth on founding

No, it doesn’t. Maybe it’s a Mac thing?
Check if right clicking is enabled in the system settings. It's not on by default on Macs.

What are the unlocks for all the endeavours? I can't figure out what I need to do to initiate Cultural Exchange.

It's either a civic or science tech, don't remember.
