Every time I try to load the mod I get the same error.

XML parsing SAX error:
Assets\modules\DancingHoskuld\Subdue_Animals\z_experimental\Lizards\zAnimals_Tamed_Lizard_CIV4ArtDefines_Unit.xml: invalid document structure at line 1

I would really like to know how to fix this as I really want to play this mod.

Might be that the file path is too long, I know that can cause problems but I don't remember how those problems look like atm.
Here's my file path for that file.
"C:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Sid Meier's Civilization IV Beyond the Sword\Beyond the Sword\Mods\Caveman2Cosmos\Assets\Modules\DancingHoskuld\Subdue_Animals\z_experimental\Lizards\zAnimals_Tamed_Lizard_CIV4ArtDefines_Unit.xml"
If your file path is longer than this you may want to consider installing the game closer to the drive letter.
I'm not sure this is the problem though, so you may want to wait until @Dancing Hoskuld or someone else makes another comment here.

The file path is
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Sid Meier's Civilization IV Beyond the Sword\Beyond the Sword\Mods\Caveman2Cosmos\Assets\Modules\DancingHoskuld\Subdue_Animals\z_experimental\Lizards

but the filesize is 0kb

A bit longer, but I don't think the file path is too long in your case.
It should be aprox. 2 kB.

You can copy paste this, but I suspect something is wrong with more than this one file in your case.
corrupt download perhaps.
Where\How did you download/install C2C?

I downloaded it from the official site linked to from the "player guide" thread. Should I try deleting and re-downloading it?

It keeps asking for a password in the middle of unziping the download.

Just click the little X in the upper right corner to close that. I've set no password for unzipping at all. Dropbox will ask for a password while downloading but like I 1st said just close that box.

EDIT: For the download did you select Direct download? There is a dropdpown menu with 2 selections. The little downward arrow ^ opens it from the download button.

I use direct download, but the password window for the unzip program doesn't have an x, just "ok" or "cancel" both of which stop the download.

What unzip program are you using? I have set No Password period, on the download. Nor do I have any control over the unzip program you are using. No one else has ever reported this type problem. And the SVN version I have supplied had been dowloaded 1,000s of times already.

I really do not know what to tell you. Do you have Dropbox on your computer?

Are you running as Admin on your computer? Or as a User? Sounds like User.

Good, so I take it you can now play the Mod? I hope so. :)

And I hope I wasn't to gruff in my replies. I'm an :old: that can get that way. See my sig line below. ;)

It works now! And the tech-tree (my main attraction to this mod) is even more awsome than I thought it would be!
