I will try and start this late tonight to Monday. I am open on comments for a Civ. I suspect Science based is a good starting point.
 
I think we can do this with any civ, science or not. We're on a pangaea, so my first vote is the Russians (SCI + friendly goody huts), mostly to try out the cossacks, a UU with lowered attack but more HP and blitz. Second choice is random civ.

Russians are good fun, though they've been played recently. I'd also favor the Iro, but htey have too. How about the Malinese?
 
I just did the Russians in Zav1. They are out.
The Iroquois are being played currently in LK94 and they are out. 2 games with the save civ at the same time is to much.
 
Zulu would likely be a conquest game that hangs around once the game is won just to say we built the ship. Malinese have AGR to help with early expansion and COM to help those extra cities stay productive. On the other hand, the lack of cheap buildings mean somewhat longer to develop, and the lack of MIL makes early conquest more difficult. Good civ for the long game.
 
What about US? They have a useful UU in RaR :).

I would not advice Vikings, Ethopia, Aztecs or Spain, since their UUs would see some changes in 1.04 (but, none of those seems a good idea for space anyway).

Something different: Regardless of theme/Civ/RaR or not/..., I'd like to sign up for LK100 ;).

Any ETA on 1.04? It sounds like that makes more sense for the space race game, but I don't want to delay the start to long.
 
I could send you the files; but I don't own a program to make an installer, so you'd have to put the files manually in the correct folders (and all of you would have to do this). Can't tell when Isak will find the time to finish the self-extracting version, sorry.
But I just posted my fixed 1.03, adressing all buggy issues in 1.02 without adding new animations etc. And for this one, you only need the biq file itself.

That is a bit to much to ask from everyone. I will wait a day or 2, but I will start it.
 
I am wait a little longer for 1.04. However, if it doesn't show up shortly I will start the game in 1.01.

I am still open for Civ ideas.
 
My preference list is as follows
1) Portugal
2) Germany
3) USA
 
No. Polynesia is SEA/EXP, and unlike Portugal, they do not suck thanks to their useful UU ;). There is no really bad Civ in RaR. Korea or France are ugly to start with (since they're the only Civs that don't see a single resource in the beginning); but both have good traits for the later game.
