Loaded game exits to Desktop

I saved my game and when I go back and load it up it, it eventually (I inadvertently saved it right before a particular conquest) exits out completely to desktop after said Conquest has been won.

I'm sorry if this particular problem might have been posted before, I don't mean to add redundancy here. But if anyone knows why and/or how I can solve this issue I would appreciate it very much.
