As an AI Pacal is one of the games biggest wimps and culture whores, although he can declare at pleased.Finanical is one of the games best economic traits and expansive is always a nice bonus to health and worker production.

Hmm.. not bad,but not the best start i rolled for this (no tripple gems for you!;)) two corn and marble, oracle could be a good call here, and obviously the great library later on.

The map is a standard size fractal with no huts and no events and with an exrta AI for balance. You will find the zipped saves below. Choose your level then choose your speed and get underway. Suggestions for updates are:

Checkpoint 1 - when we have explored the island and are aware of what resources it has. Its not so important when this is, but this is a time to discuss city sites etc. Don't look into a checkpoint 1 spoiler until you have reached this point yourself.

Checkpoint 2 - first contact - when we have met all the other AIs. At this point we can discuss our strategy to get to this point and our plans for dealing with them.

Checkpoint 3 - when we are committed to a victory condition (or at least think we are).

Checkpoint 4 - Victory (or defeat).

Finally, a thankyou to r_rolo1 and all those that came before him in this series' initial run and to TheMeInTeam for the map creation guides, and thanks to hrun for co-hosting and reviving this series. Enjoy!

Ah crap, Ill fix it. Sorry bout that. I did move an AI that was near us on to another land mass but i musta forgotten about the imm saves.

Even that wouldn't be enough. You'd have to flop the player start with another AI...

From the broken save...

IMM/Norm

1876 AD Culture

Spoiler :

Settled in place. Henge/ToA/Parth/Glib while blocking fred. I eventually got sistine, sankore, spiral, apostolic palace (in fred's confucianism) also.

My wonderspam + warmonger continent hatred = huge tech lead. Around 1500 AD I opted to go for culture off the mass media beeline. Farmed what artists I could in my mixed capitol pool, built the 3 mass media wonders in mayapan to help it, mashed end turn FTW.

Fun to flip so many cities. As you can see even with only 1 religion/cathedral and no corps late culture is doable, and a lot less micro intensive than space if a little bit more boring XD.

Asoka attempted culture too. His #3 was 45ish turns from legendary when I won so screw him and his 4 religions (my continent got confuc/tao (fred) and islam (me), he got the other 4 as the warmongers apparently got nothin).

None of them are isolated. Ironically, there is an isolated civ, just not Pacal!

Also, as they're worldbuilder saves, you see the other civs listed.

Thats just typical. My first fourm game as a host and this happend, how embarressing. Im just going to reroll another map take down those saves and start another thread. Consider this thread abandoned. Thanks to TMIT for playing it, and to those who notified me about this...

I took the repaired imm wb save and no it's not isolated, but semi-isolated with SB, contact at T86.

Played to 1AD anyway, because crap this land I never saw! Didn't cottage spam like half year, but this time... I just post anyway so you all see.

I play on Immortal btw! doesn't feel so...

spoiler for strategy

Spoiler :

with the FPs in 2nd ring of BFC I went with Pottery before BW. After BW poly->maso->ph->writing.
oracle->CoL, selftech Monarchy (initially wanted to do reverse, but since I have so much commerce...)

Then lost a little bit track, but I think Aesth->Lit->Alpha->Cur->Math or something like that. AH somewhere too.
Now working on CS.
Have 150bpt on 100% slider lol :-D

complete madness I tell you!

Note to OP: Generally pulling a civ w/o replacing it is a recipe for nonsense.

Try to roll maps until 1 civ turns up isolated. Use the XML to flip the player civ with that civ directly and you're set. Much faster and less IMBA than whatever you tried to do here...and it guarantees iso :p.
