I've seen it live doing the Cobra, something I'm not likely to forget ever!

Oh? But it would be cool to have a way to differentiate the naval fighter from the land base oneOriginally posted by BeBro
Oh, and I think the land based version in Russia has this blueish camo too.
Amen to that! Like that wonderful turboprop strategic bomber, the Tu-95 Bear, and that sleek naval terror Tu-22M Backfire... not to mention the other members of the Flanker family; the multi-role tandem two-seat Su-30 (exported to India) and the side-by-side two-seat strike fighter Su-34Originally posted by andrew510
yes, we need more russian aircraft.
Unfortunately not, it wasn't a regular airshow. The Ukrainian pilots were training and we "happened" to be in the neighbourhood...Originally posted by andrew510
did you catch it on video?
Judging from the best pics I've seen of the Su-33/Su-27K, the carrierborne Flanker-D, the blue colours are darker and more sort of greenish than the standard Su-27 interceptor... Besides, there's a more obvious difference: the Su-27K has moving canard foreplanes to allow slower landing at higher angles of attack.Originally posted by Steph
