Looking for people to join Monarch Trainer (I need training)

It's been a while, but I thought i'll post the log anyway as it's still roaming on my disc, and it would be a waste of all the work.

Status at check 1500 AD

See a nice big army as promised waiting near Washington and some transports of the coast to transport the first wave.

They can all move, but I wait for a turn as we want to start the war with F16’s

IBT: Our 7th army is ready, build a new one in 4, Build a lot of workers and some tanks.

Turn 1: 1505 AD
Fill up the armies with the same units as already in it. Exept the MDI army, it get’s reinforcement from a infantry, for defense. Move fighters to carriers

IBT: Build tanks, bombers, carrier, destroyer

Turn2: 1510 AD
The plan will be to land the major forcebetween Ollantayytambo and Vilcas and build a city here, and an airport immeadeately. When the major retailliation force of the Inca is exhausted, some will airlift to the sounthern area’s of the incan territory. After the Incan are destroyed the major force will continue to the Zulu.

Build city albaquerque on westcoast to use more tiles (for growth)

Build Portland on coastal hill in the west, reduce the science slider by 10%. Move ships into position

IBT: Research Rocketry. We immediately order our first F16’s. Reduce science to 0%. Won’t need new techs, do need cash though.

Turn 4: 1520 AD

IBT: We get our first F16, more tanks, order a couple of new settlers

Turn 5: 1525 AD
Rebase F16 to Baltimore, to officially start the attack next turn.

Made a couple of small mistakes, that left my newly conquered cities badly defended, with great military forces just camping outside of them. Hope the Inca won’t punish me for that.

I declared the following policy for rushing stuff. On main continent, Units req 1 or 2 turns: no rush. Units req 3-5 turns: rush after 1 turn. On other continent, rush immeadeatly a temple and barracks, other stuff(not much anyway) rush after 1 turn

It takes 1 attack with cav army, which takes heavy losses, but wins against rifleman. Vet Cav takes of 1 hp from impi, Bomber takes the impi out. The city is now empty for a cav to walk in.

Still need 3 tiles for domination, lets look around how to achief this.

I have some settlers on the transport. And they can build in a 4 tile gap this turn.

Build the town and call it Victoria.

Victory condition doesn’t kick in right away, so build two more towns just to be sure.

It took me 14 turns. 4973 points. I had to move very carefully, but I made it.

Crap. I lost my entire notes, and screenshots :wallbash:.

However, I did pretty much the same as Michelangelo.
Founded beachhead cities in between the Incan core, and concentrated on Incans first (starting the war with a F-15, of course).
Why Incans?
1) They had the most culture, so resistance there would take longer to quell.
2) They had 2 Luxuries; especially their Silks would be immediately connect via the Zulu Harbors.
3) They had Bach's and Leo's. The first will help with Happiness in the conquered cities, the later allows to upgrade all our MDI to TOWs cheap enough to be worth it.

My focus in the wars was ruleplay, so I didn't press too fast, but wanted to almost entirely avoid casualties. Lost a Tank and a Cav to Incans, and a Cav to Zulu (to an Impi, triggering their GA when Shaka had only Zimbabwe left :lol: ). Also, I tried to abstain from overusing Bombers; this is close to an exploit IMHO. Because of that, I mainly used Cav Armies, and Artillery.
Signed a RoP and MA with Mayans and Netherlands; the one with the Dutch was a good move, allowing me to use their Rail net. Mayans were a mistake; they blocked me from reaching the Southern Incans cities for 2 turns.
When I was almost done (except the S) with Incans, I ran over the Zulu in exactly 2 turns (only Zimbabawe itself didn't fall in the first turn).
Also, I founded several more cities on our continent for some more tiles.
Always rushed a Library first in any new city (disbanded a unit there in turn 0), then one turn of production, then a Temple to get a border expansion within 3 turns.

This was a nice SG, good discussion team :thumbsup:.

Of course, the great start made a victory almost inevitable. Note I wouldn't use such a wide-spread core with worse terrain, but here it was the correct choice for me. Our insanely strong core was what won us the game so easily later.

Have to agree to that.

Allthough it was my first SG and can't compare it to others I also found it mostly a fun experience. It's completely different for me to play alone or in a SG-team. When RL permits it again, i'll join (or start) another game.

Yay I’m last!

Sorry this took so long. I got distracted by a little thing called Halo 2 and musta forgot that I never finished this game. Totally my bad.

Better late than never though.

Pre turn

Let’s get this party started. This game really hasn’t seen enough world wars. Maybe we need one :mischief: . Load up my settlers and some infantry escorts and my cav armies into our transports (the other two useless armies are left on home defense) and head out.

1505 – Air life a bunch of cavs to our lonely island up north. Load up a bunch of cavs and artillery. Gear up for world war!

In Mid – Nutin

1510 – More unit movement. War is imminent!

In Mid – Mayans offer me 21 gpt for gems. Nice, but no thanks.

1515 – Declaire on Inca and Zulu, sign MA with Dutch (for rubber) and Mayans (for Gems) against them. Land all units on a mountain near an Incan cities.

In Mid – Nuttin.

1520 - Take Two Zulu Cities on Island and (surprise surprise) get a great Leader! (Yay) Attack Incan City and Raze it (can’t settle due to borders, boo!) Hit enter.

In Mid – Swat some Incan flies.

1525 – We now know rocketry!! Yay! Set research to zero, learn fission in 50. Upgrade flying thingies. Move mo Troops, lot’sa tanks on Incan soil. Hit enter.

In Mid – William offers me spices for fur gems Ivory and Dyes. A bit steep but hey the game’s almost done so what do I care. Sure.

1530 – Attack and raze a second Incan City. Gah! The borders are still covering the entire area! Can’t settle, booooooo!

In Mid – Swatted more flies, lose two cavs (booooooo!)

1535 – Attack and take Machu Pichu which has the Great Library. How nice. Raze it!

In Mid – Watched an Incan Guerrilla duke it out with a Swiss Mercenary.

1540 Founded Minneapolis and Pittsburg . Take Huamanga and it’s two Trebs :lol: and Raze!

In Mid – Incas want peace, nope!

1545 – Start siege on Cuzco, I think I wanna keep this one. Get artillery within range. And Cuzco falls at size 4.

In Tween – Nuttin

1550 – The new incense causes mass WLTP days. Woo!

In tween – Nada.

1555 - Take Corihuayrachin and raze it just so I never have to type that name again!

1560 – Take a size 2 Twanaku. Take a size 5 Ngome.

1565 – Take Hloban, Raze it.

1570 – Take another Zulu City (forgot to catch the name.) Raze it. Found Orlando and Tacoma.

IBT – watch massive Mayan troop movements.

1575 – Found Santa Fe.

IBT – More Mayan Troop Movements.

1580 – Found Olympia. Take Andahuaylas and Arequipa.

IBT – Watch the Mayans take out the Zulu right in front of my armies. :(

1585 – Only 6 more area % points to go. Move a bunch of Troops. Incas are down to once City. Once they go down might think about declaring on the Mayans.

IBT – Lotta Mayan movements.

1590 – Take Ica and Nasca. Incas are out. War’s over, now everyone’s annoyed with me. Sign MPP with Dutch add incense to sweeten the deal. Demand Mayans leave my territory or declare war, Mayan are now furious. Dang only 4% more to go. Maybe I’ll get it during border expansion next turn.

IBT – Mayans pull our wine.

1595 – Found Hunt Valley.

IBT – Nuthin.

1600 – Found Springfield. Oy, only 2 more percent to go.

IBT – Dutch as for world map. Nah.

1605 – Cleaned a lot of pollution.

IBT – nothing

1610 – Rush a ton of cultural buildings to widen borders, maybe get a cultural flip. Trade sanitation for espionage with the Dutch. Set Washington to build intelligence agency, done in 3. Found Palo Alto in the middle of a swamp. 65% Only one more point to go. Ugh!

1615 – Win! (about time)

Well those are my turns. If I may say so, I quite possibly did the worst job out of all of us. Those Military alliances really hurt me as the Mayans gobbled up a lot of territory that should have been mine.

I have to say it has truly been fun guys. I know I’m majorly late on my side, but it’s been a pleasure playing with you guys. I learned a lot.

Oh and sorry again about my tardiness.
