Well my website is complete, and the beta released on it! (I'll clear linking it first with Petek... don't want to get in trouble ).

Now it's just coordinating with Petek and yourself to ensure a successful release!

Yes, and if he says that some things require change, then what I have to change first. I've realised that I should take some screenshots for use for the news posts (I have some prepared, but more is probably idea) as well.

Here's the announcement. I will say now that I am using something similar to this on my website at the moment.

Lost Eden, a new total conversion (mod) for Alien Crossfire, has just been released as a public beta, available <here>. It's a world in which good and evil wage war unlike ever before. A mysterious figure, Meora, has caused people and factions to clash. Can you gain control of Lost Eden and put an end to the madness once and for all?

What's different about Lost Eden?

• 14 new factions balanced with each other
• Units from many species: charmanders, squirtles, roses, humans and more
• New artwork for units, terrain, leaders, technologies and the user interface
• Predesigned units present a wide range of tactical options and include cheap amphibious spies, psionic units that lower enemy morale, fast attack units with low defence and very powerful irreparable units

I'm really out of it at the moment due to having to help a horse out that had colic - end result is that I've been walking for hours and hours today and I'm really wasted. Rather than make no response I'll just offer a lighter one.

"to clash" = "to kill"

I think something that gets in the concept of myth or epic for the first one. And "clash" seems rather lukewarm. If not kill, then berserk, i.e. some concept of frenzy.

I think the third one is the most original. For the announcement, just one. For the website, they're all good, although the last one (with the borehole cluster) seems too similar to vanilla.

Ugh my net is painfully slow at the moment. It can hardly do a thing, going at 9 KB/s, taking multiple attempts to load this page. I've ring the ISP in a bit to see what's up and they'll send out a technician in a few working days. Still annoying though--it won't help my reply speed, that's for sure.

That's an interesting idea. I'll think about what I can do! If by "main character" you refer to me, then I suppose I could put some of my history there. Otherwise I can put a copy of the story I wrote in the readme file.

I am thinking of some kind of "embellished" history that would be entertaining to read and be a prelude to LE. I am thinking of a history that is literary rather than literal.

Could you please explain what you mean a bit more? Do you mean like history from a WikiPedia angle or something? I'm happy to explore it though.

I'm hoping to find a way to make things more interesting without destroying the mystery of LE.

Sample:
