This mod was Created and Produced by King Arthur, Balthasar and Blue Monkey and many loyal and patient unit makers. In the Three Plus years since this mod was first conceived, almost every regular member of this little community has had some little hand in the creation of this mod, so we thank everybody!

Well it's a bit more than 3 plus years since Balthasar wrote the above and a lot has changed. I am working on a continuation of Balth's Lost Worlds mod utilising his map, terrain graphics, interface graphics and ideas. Of course it's only my interpretation of what his wild imagination could conceive and constrained by the limits of the Civ 3 engine but I'm going to give it my best shot!

How far away am I from release? Well a lot has been done but there is a lot of polish still needed. For now I'll just be posting screenshots of progress; teasers if you will.

Mini map view. From top to bottom we have Barsoom (Mars), the Moon, the Earth, the Underworld, the Innerworld (Pellucidar). Travel between the different "layers" requires special units: the bathysphere and the aethersphere (or if you're one of those Great Old One Entities you can just use a portal :smoke:)

A deviation from Balthasar's original idea of the Vril (Vril-ya). I just didn't think there was enough substance to them (nor units) so I went with an ancient mythological civ which I hope is keeping with the mod. Plus I get to include Atlantis and any character from Greek (or Roman) mythology. :)
p.s. there's a Hydra unit missing from the above screenshot

Thanks Vuldacon. Picking the units was fun but time-consuming. I have a few of your splendid units in there as well.
 
I've uploaded a copy of the mod in the OP. If anyone has time and patience to playtest it would be greatly appreciated.

I'm mainly looking for bugs, game balance issues and alternative unit choices.

Please bear in mind that the following things are still being worked on:
  • diplomacy text
  • missing unique units (settlers, workers, naval)
  • peida text
  • special placed barb units
  • tech tree text
  • tech tree arrows
  • unit sounds
 
Looks amazing! Downloaded the .zip, looking forward to taking it for a spin at some point.

Presumably the large variety of terrains I can see in the screenies is a result of extensive use of LM variants?

That's the trick yes. I can't take the credit for the map as it is Balthasar's creation although I did hand edit in the Earth. In the original it was a map of Britain. You can still find Balthasar's original map in the Downloads section.

I can see the tremendous amount of work you have accomplished and know there is more to do.

Balthasar would absolutely Love what you have done.

I want to make a Xenomorph Unit and hope to get to it sometime soon. Still Adding to EFZI2 Elite... Key Locations, Improvements, Units and Game Testing it all.

Good Luck with your continued work and especially the Text as that is Very time consuming in deed.

It's not quite as he would have envisaged but I'm confident Balthasar would get a kick out it.

Indeed there is a lot of work to do as you know only too well from direct experience.

A Xenomorph sounds cool - would love to see that. And I will take EFZI2 Complete for a spin soon.
